I like this update, which I'm happy about, and the rewards seem very useful as well.

Well full construction outfit saves you 8 hours when going for 200M xp. How long does it take to get full outfit, longer than 8 hours? Seems like another pointless item.

The minigame is actually pretty fun and offers a wide variety of other benefits in the way of xp or cash. The 200m argument that you are using does not take those factors into play.

EDIT: Not to mention that this thread was made about 9 hours ago. Since you get the lumberjack and the construction set while doing this activity, it is worth the time.

I always find the arguments of time taken to get outfit xp makes it useless flawed.

As they only make logical sense if you count time spent getting the outfit solely as time training that skill with no xp gain.

But you're not training the skill at all you are doing an entirely different thing for other rewards.

The only exception being mining suit and even that is fine to get assuming you start lava flow mine at lowest level as you still gain significant mining xp while getting the suit.

I can see from a strictly 100% metagame viewpoint they may suck, but meh very few people ACTUAL 100% follow the best metagaming route 100% of the time you go do other random things for fun or reward.

Nail beast nails are crashing hard.

I saved up about 100 or so and I was figuring I'd get some good money, but they're not even selling at 1k each lol

Ahh well, time to make them into sanfew serums.

Managed to sell them at 200 gp each

First they came to fishing

and I didn't speak out because I wasn't fishing

Then they came to the yews

and I didn't speak out because I didn't cut yews

Then they came for the ores

and I didn't speak out because I didn't collect ores

Then they came for me

and there was no one left to speak out for me.

Anyone know which is the best profit out of the rewards? Been getting xp books so far but getting all the dudes to 99 could make a nice bit of gp on the side :)

Yeah the Vyrewatches are annoying. I just click one and afk for 5 minutes until it's dead. Then just 3 more to go.

It wouldn't be so bad if there weren't like 6 of them on the hard route coupled with the fact that Ivandis flail is the slowest piece of [cabbage] ever lol.

Also Chris L is easily one of the best, if not THE best developers working for Jagex right now. I loved TT before but now it is just awesome.

Have you tried upgrading your flail by cremating vyrewatch? It gets a stat increase for every 50 you do, up to 500. If you max it, it's not that bad.

For anyone wondering why their companion isn't attacking: these aren't meant to be killed by hand.

Note: they'll be hit within 1 square of the fence, or within the fence. You have 2 charges.

Just tank them with a protect prayer and high prayer bonus. Several levels per encounter and very afk. Make sure you stand next to your companion.

I just got Zachory to level 99 and got the Canifis trapdoor shortcut.

When toggled, the trapdoor will lead you straight to where the boat ends up in Mort'ton.

So no more need to run through the basement, through the doors, over the tree bridge and then run to the boat.

Really speeds things up.

Shame though, because you can't use it when going to bloodveld as well (and I don't like the abyss).

AMAZING UPDATE!!!

I used to love Temple Trekking before, and now I just absolutely [bleep]ing loveeee it.

Only things I disliked about it before was that I couldn't get a LJ top to save my life, 23 boots, 10 pants, and 9 hats later I finally did. Wonder if I take my lone top and drop it when that event starts if I can get a back up set or 2 or whatever like that....as long as the I "technically" dont have the items that I "need" it should always drop for me that way right?

But ya, Already got Bandos boy to 99, Pazuzu is at 73 or so and taking a bit longer, the rest are at lvl 30...all in 4 or 5 hours time and the biggest thing of all..............I ACTUALLY HAD FUN FOR SEVERAL HOURS IN A ROW ON RUNESCAPE...hell I was even losing track of the time at points. Thank god I had the day off for a change.
