06-Sep-11 - New High Level Prayer Potion

After the update yesterday, everyone's prayer points were reset to base value. Meaning if you were below 990, you went to 990, and if you were boosted over 990, you went back to it anyway.

Edit: Heh heh ninja'd :P

In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers.

Oh -- and I'd like to complain!

Prior to this upgrade, I had prayed at the Zaros Altar and my prayer was showing at 113 when I logged out. When I logged in after the prayer upgrade, my prayer was at 990. <.<

BTW, praying at the Zaros altar at 99 prayer brings it to 1138 ...

I don't get what you meant. o_o

When you pray at the Zaros altar (the one under the digsite), you get an extra 14 points, but in reality it's 13.8. However, with this new update, it didn't take into account that Blyaunte's prayer points were boosted above the maximum, and had reset her back down to the normal maximum. :)

Well it is a tiny bit inconvenient if you were say prepping for a PvM and wanted those free extra points hehe. :P

Kind of hard to fathom prepping for a boss hunt and getting where you need to go in order to start killing and then going to bed. o_O Maybe if you're killing Nex, I guess, but...

I often do that >.>, means I am ready to start whatever I wanted to do soon as I log on.

Check it out, huge amount of effort has gone into this massive mod!

Whether or not the updates are deemed good or lame is a completely different story, but I have maintained in past threads and will say again that I wish we would have more sporadic updates that affect the game in a more significant way. That way, Jagex could put time and effort into updates rather than spitting them out like turds for the players to complain about.

It is not a question of good or lame, but the update is insignificant. An easy filler update to keep their promise.

I do agree with you however, instead of these freguent tiny updates they should make less frequent, bigger updates.

Dunno what ancient mace cap is but I hitted 220 and got boosted that amount.

780 prayer --> 1000 prayer

Me and the wise old man go way back.... he was a foolish boy back then.

I hope these updates mean that a lot of effort has been put into ROTM. I don't care if we had no updates beside it this month, as long as it turns out great.

We're still talking about Jagex right?

To be fair, been some nice content recently.

As long as the quest follows the trail of Branches of Darkmeyer, not Pillar In The Wound.

Er, they're making both. The most hotly anticipated Runescape quest ever is releasing this month. I don't see why you think that's a system that needs fixing.

Jagex does a good job when it comes to regular content, like it or not.

Ok "Pillar in the Wound" made me LOL.

But -- I gotta ask -- what is the likelihood that Jagex is going to give us back-to-back epic battles?!?!?

That said, I, for one, am HUGELY keen to see this saga move forward, if not for anything else but to avenge Hazelmere!

---------------

Back on Topic +1 - I got seven seeds for the new herb last night. Pity I'm only 82 farming atm.

Can they be grown using assists?

Since they're tradable I don't see why not? Also, I like your new sig :)

I haven't done that quest but I've read a lot of the complaints so I know how it ends and that made me lol too.

As for this new potion, I'm not really sure what my opinion on it is. I doubt I'll ever bother with it unless it turns out to be extremely good in boss hunting situations. I probably won't ever make any for quite a few reasons (I don't do MTK so I probably won't be getting the herbs or seeds, I'm 99 slayer so I hardly ever fight stuff anymore (no seeds for me), I'm 99 herblore so I rarely ever make potions now).

I turned Turmoil on earlier just to see what the drain rate looked like. It seemed a bit quicker to me, but that's probably just because you actually get to see the decimals between the whole numbers now. It might take a bit of time for me to get used to having 990 prayer points rather than 99, but I'm sure I'll figure it out like I did when HP became LP.

99 HP, Attack, Strength, Defence, Summoning, Ranged, Herblore, Prayer, Agility, Magic, Slayer, Fletching, Fishing, Woodcutting, Mining, and Thieving.

Jagex'd out of my untrimmed hp cape on 6/14/2011.

Why should each week be some large update?

Honestly, I contend that if Jagex could do several small updates well, it would be better than some large Diversion/Distraction that people play once or twice and never use again.

Not every update needs to make monumental change to the game, they come out weekly.

Side Note: so when are Summoning points going to go the way of HP and Prayer?

They added one new potion as a week's worth of updates. ONE.

Might as well just have added it as a "In other news" update together with something else.

The potion is great, but it shouldn't fill one week's worth of updates.

I'll be honest, I'd rather have the potion now rather than waiting a week for it because even though it's ready, the other bit isn't.

I honestly couldn't care less if the update in the first week is small. Often, the first week doesn't have an update at all.

I'm not an efficienado.
