jayc3399
I have finally made it to the pincers after trying to stay in the bowl as long as i could to get scrolls. In total i have 1 scrimshaw, the soup, full tetsu, almost full death lotus(missing two scrolls) So all and all it seems like a good deal i also collected trade goods in the bowl getting enough to sell 3 scrimshaws. I was making the tradable strenghth ones each sold between 2.3 and 2.5mil. I also made and sold about 170 soups from spices collected in the bowl i have 35 plate aswell, very little chi(3) and lacure(5). I think this is due to my lack of certain skills over 90. So in total 30 scrolls by trying to stay in the bowl? Success? or waste of time? I'd say waste of time, I've made more things then you and I've got chest and bottom for both death lotus and tetsu, 1 scrimshaw and half the soup. I also didn't get a single scroll until i hit the bowl as i prioritized resources first. Everyonedies
^^ But you only have 22 scrolls i have gotten 30. I was rather detailed in what i have made and sold. Can you provide what you have made and sold. Also remember i havent got any of the story lines finished yet so i havnt got those trade goods yet. *Edit im not saying it wasnt a waste of time i just wanted to know some numbers(of things made and sold) so others could see if they might want to do what i did (holding in the bowl on purpose) I have the biologist, assn, and whaler as my only unlocked adventures. So im sure this might play a role since im missing 3 of them. http://www.clanhavok.net/

I've currently got 46 bones, 49 plates 12 lacqur 6 chi and 210 spices. I've made 9 scrimshaws, and tetsu legs. I guess the question becomes is that 8 scrolls worth the extra time? I've completely filled out my crew and bought all my ship upgrades also. So now I'm basically leveling up my crew to max farming some extra stainless steel. I'd say in ~5 days all of my crew will be level 8 + and I'll start only doing scroll + tradegood missions. Your several weeks out from doing that. I've also only done 2 storyline ones from the princers getting me the 100 spices and 25 bones + merchant. Sylpheed
I decided against staying in the Bowl to get scrolls as I did it before with Scythe to Bowl with not that much benefit. Right now, I've got all the Tetsu scrolls, soup and Lotus hood and now working on Lotus top. I used up about 300 spice and made superior Tetsu top and legs with 20 plates to go for the helm. Currently sitting on 160 Lacquer too, and about 60 bones. No Chi globes as I'm not 90rc and Sea-Singers is the last thing I'll be making.
chenw
I have enough mats to make two superior pieces, with the successful return of storyline today yielding me a 3rd piece. As of now, all I need are trade goods and I can make anything I want pretty much. I am currently at 52 scrolls (all armors and 4 scrimshaws) But I am also severely behind due to work schedule, i;d be lucky if i can send out voyages twice on a given day, and i still prioritise Scrolls over everything else as completionist thing. I never really had a problem with resources in the early regions, and my idea was I'd rather backtrack to an earlier region for higher success rates on resources than having agonisingly slow scroll income rate. 6,924th to 30 hunting, 13,394th to 30 summoning, 52,993rd to 30 DivinationKiln Record (Post-EoC): W 25 - L 0, 14 Uncut Onyx, 8 Jad hits received (Best record: Two in the same kiln)Obby set renewed post update #2: 0QBD drops: 21 crossbow parts, 3 Visages, 1 Kites, 2 KitsMax Port Score [2205] Achieved: 27th April 2013 (World 2nd) Farmyard Rampage ranking: 12th, 50,000 Kills. aerendil
Imo, sea singers is actually the most useful set for high end bossing; especially tanking nex; tetsu looses too much dps compared to void save duoing, in which it is probably very useful. I can tank for about 3-4 hrs in my sea singers/virtus, compared to 1-2 hrs in gano; the boost is actually very impressive. I personally unlocked each body scroll;death lotus/testu/seasingers, then got tetsu helm, vampyrism, and am now working on sea singer legs :)
Quyneax
It's a bit sad to see the only reason to send off steel voyages (past upgrades) is xp for your crew. Basically, scratch the 4 merchants, you're not rolling 6+ trade good voyages per day average (until jade statues get a fix, maybe). Today, only one voyages has useful rewards for me :(. Ammako
So, can they still only be fixed when totally decayed or has that been upgraded as well? That problem has been addressed and Mod Edam is currently trying to get it through Q&A, but they have been waaay to busy lately...Too busy QA'ing 07scape... Exhibit C of affecting main game. I wish they would just make it nondegradable. I don't see why it's a given that everything has to degrade. Money sinks, I wish when they up'd the cost of barrows degrades they up'd it everywhere. The game has far far to much currency and needs to take a bunch out.The problem is that all the gold is owned by a select few, while some players who are using degradable armour (mainly Barrows) already have trouble making enough money to cover the degradation costs. In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers.

Yoko Kurama
I have been getting lucky, somewhat, lately. Today I got an adventurer's reroll so I was able to do 2 scroll missions. This also happened the other day. In addition, I have gotten scrolls for the last 2-3 days (from the normal daily rerolls) so that's good as well. I have got a plate mission (5), and I got 2 trade good missions that were for 2 each. Not bad I guess. If I complete the second scroll mission, I will be at 29/36 armour scrolls. Not bad. Blofeld
Im trying to get from 96-99 slayer, am 97 currently and I must admit getting a free 25k slayer xp every few days is very useful. Especially each day ive gotten that particular voyage, i've also rolled the other adventurer with a scroll voyage. XP voyages in any of the other skills , other than perhaps fishing seem pointless though. Is it me or should the xp be a bit more scaled based on the xp rates of each skill, like the daily challenges are. I.e 25k in slayer is far more significant than for 25k in thieving for example. Quyneax
Well, my thought is this: Once you get to the stage where you are only after trade goods, is there any reason to NOT use 4 merchants? go for xp rewards? The 4th merchant takes up a crew slot which could be used to get greater success chance on the missions you are sending out. I don't think it's terribly likely that you will send four at once at any time, because of the low success rate you will likely have to accept. You'd have to be lucky enough to roll just the right mix of singles, doubles and triples (no more doubles/triples than you have judges, no two of the same mission (which implies no more than one triple) etc.).
