Just saw this is passing on rs wiki about things that happen with daily reset:

A daily salary is paid:

20 chimes if the port has a Refitted office.

50 chimes if the port has a Renovated office.

150 chimes if the port has a Refurbished office.

Is that true? Seems like bs to me I certainly never noticed chimes going down.

I think that's chimes you receive, so that people who had all their crew die on them and can't complete any voyages will be able to start back up or something.

I alawys assumed that that's what the free captains and crew were for.

In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers.

although to be fair, once you get into skull, those (both the salary and the free capt/crews) become marginal at best, negligible at worst.

Bar? There is only one choice: Luxurious bar, every other bar has very marginal benefits over Luxurious

You will want to work up your smithing though, You will need 90 smithing to be able to make the armor (last time I tried, boosts didn't work).

Insta-sell prices I got from cashing in some resources tonight:

Tetsu Legs: 4.5m

Seasinger Bottom: 2.3m

Death Lotus chaps: 2.1m

Scrimshaw of Vampyrism: 300k

Tree-shaking scrimshaw: 100k

Rocktail soup: 6.8k

Gem-finding, Log-splitting, and Rock-crushing scrimshaws did not insta-sell at any price, so that was a bust.

Upate: Gem-finding sold at 67k. Rock-crushing sold at 55k. Blech.

1. Upgrade to more ships

2. Upgrade crew

3. Upgrade ship upgrades

If you get the island missions, they aren't very critical, except for the oxhead and horseface.

I'd say Judges and Oxheads are pretty important, and the others are very useful at their respective tiers. Resource missions don't do that much, really.

I'd say Judges and Oxheads are mandatory as they are part of your end-game crew, they shine especially and specifically during Trio missions.

Ok, thanks. In terms of upgrading crew, that is based on recruiting. I didn't miss something that allows you to improve current crew stats did I?

Nope, there is no way to individually upgrade your crew except for the captain, so it's roll of the dice (no pun intended).

Also, sold Vamp two days ago for 551k ins.

Jagex could make Tetsu, Seasinger, Death Lotus and Scrimshaws hold so much better value if they weren't so stubborn.

Step 1: Make the tradable ones NOT degrade to dust

Step 2: Make it so that ports users can, for similar levels and smaller resource amounts (and/or using the normal port goods like steel) make repair kits.

Step 3: Make repairs/recharges require say 1 repair kit per 10% of charge.

Boom!

The base items are much more appealing to buy to combat mad skill noobs making the prices go up a bit AND repair kits give us a more consistent income from ports without spending weeks/months for each big make.
