Would it be hard for me to get Fire Cape with my stats?

I was on Wave 60. Lost connection and had 1 pray left and 22 hp and the 360 was still out. I had like 2 brews left and almost 8 super restores.

Yeah this really pisses me off especcially if it turns out to be an intended change, because I have no idea of how to counter this problem, I've talked with other people and tried various things but nothing seems to work, so far it's happened 13 times -.- , GF my hope at a fire cape.

I just had the same problem! First time ever getting to Jad, did perfectly on the prayer switching, started trying to shoot the healers and it all fell apart on me. They just keep looking at Jad and healing him. As I'm scrambling for a solution, boom got hit for 80. (Guess I should have healed all the way to full after he hit me as he spawned!)

 

 

 

This makes all Jad guides useless and is kind of unfair to those of us who have to deal with this new issue. But whatever, I still want the cape.

 

 

 

I can think of two possible solutions to this:

 

 

 

1. Do so much damage to Jad that the healers aren't able to keep up. It's hard to see how much Jad gets healed by them so I don't know how possible this might be. I'll try bringing some hefty bolts next time just for Jad.

 

 

 

2. Just kill the healers. I'm not sure how quickly they respawn, if they each individually respawn once dead, or if you can perhaps kill three of them and leave one to just minorly heal while finishing Jad off.

 

 

 

In any case, the bottom line is, just keep your eye on Jad and try to see what you can do in there. It's a pain but this is what we get for relying too much on player-written guides in an ever-changing game. I paniced when things didnt go my way and lost sight of Jad's movements. FTL.

 

 

 

This doesnt bother me as much as the glitchy new quick prayer button making me lose on wave 61. There's gotta be a way to do it.

The healers are easy to kill. Once you attack each of them once, simply run behind the rock where Jad can't attack you. Finish off the healers with protect from melee on.

That only works if you get an italy spawn, and in 15 tries I never got one italy spawn -.-

Wow, i'm a total noob but this inspires me to give it a go as soon as i hit 70 def and range. i prefer getting a firecape over a skillcape any day T.T

I got that problem with that healers too (well, 5 times, got the cape on the 6th attempt).

 

The healers only keep on healing Jad, when they cannot reach you, for example Jad is between you and the healers.

 

This happened for me on my 6th attempt too, so before I shoot the healers, I quickly moved around Jad till the healers so that they can reach me. Finnaly I shoot all of them to make them attack me. Finnaly I moved some squares, so that only 1 of the healers attacks me, with the other 3 behind the attacking one.

 

After that, I keept shooting Jad and finished him off.

I suggest you do not run trough Jad to reach the healers, because then he uses melee on you, which can hit a max of 97.

I am thinking on using my ancient mace for my 2nd cape to save up some prayer. Well, when I got my 1st cape, I had 1 Saradomin brew and 3, or maybe 4 Prayer/Superrestore pots left.

You should have saved and logged out after wave 61, thats the wave before the 2 lvl 360s are comming.

 

But the 62 waves aren't the hard pard. Jad is much harder to kill, as to get to him.

Got to wave 62 and died due to technical malfunction...my mouse died #-o -.- :wall:

Got to Jad but he wouldn't spawn, the wave didn't want to start, so I logged out, in the middle which I regret now, came back on, got hit a 93-17 and instantly died, I was pretty furious.........

Can I actually do it with broad bolts?

One thing about the new Jad is that his range attack is extremely easy to identify, much more so than the magic attack.

 

 

 

So, I have come up with a very successful way of beating him. After you can see him, keep mage prayer on. Only when you see him stomp, switch to range, then switch back after the attack hits. It will surprise you just how easy it is.

 

 

 

 

In the video here, I use the above method perfectly, only messing up when I couldn't see him.

made my second attempy a hell of a lot easier than my first, and here's the result

 

I had the healers respawning issue as well, they respawned 5 times before I worked out an easy way to do it ( I was using D hally, hence why they spawned so much), kill all except for ONE healer, then, burn down Jad till he's below half health, the healer only heals him for about 10 hp, then quickly snipe the healer and continue on Jad. The healers ONLY respawn if you kill all 5 and then attack Jad again when hes on near full health. I'm guessing theres a timer on how often they can spawn. :
