PLEASE KEEP BUMPED, I HAVE CLASSES IN THE EARLY MORNING, SO I MUST SLEEP NOW. #-o Well i know most of you will look at this and say YES! MERCHANTING IS DEAD!!! But think for a second. Jagex released a buying and selling mechanic into the game that allows players to sell across all servers nearly instantly, but also installed a controlling element, Price Caps. Most people will agree that they still disagree on the whole idea, as prices have been falling constantly since its release, but is it due to the price caps? One of the major opportunities that I found nearly when everyone else did was the Onyx Gem profit. Some of you may have noticed the fall of fury amulets from 3.8 to 3.4 in just a day from about Wednesday to today. Well this was not due to the caps, but to merchants taking advantage of the prices in the GE. players supplied a very key element to make furys, supplies that could be sold for tokkul. simply stated, chaos runes. The price caps limited chaos runes to 107-120g for 2 days, and merchants jumped on it. I even jumped on. Buying enough chaos for a fury at an easy 3.1-3.2M and then selling them to the shop, along with the "sell 50" added was all to easy. Onyx were being sold into the game very quickly, that the demand for this item literally disappeared. Selling for an easy 3.7m on the forums, people could make 2-3 furys in an hour, and make very easy profit. Slowly the demand faded away, and merchants began to sell on the GE, decreasing prices. Just going on the RSOF crafting section, you will undoubtedly find at least 4-5 people on the first page selling furys on onyx gems for very low amounts compared to a few days ago.. Now, this doesn't prove that merchants still exist. Its no longer as simple as standing in a crowded world, buying an object for low, and selling for high, and not saying that that method doesn't exist, because it does, but I'm only saying that the GE opens lots of doors that force many players to sell for less and less, and sometimes selling for a bit under for players to make a quick buck. As well as all this, many players dislike the GE, and stick to the "original" way to buy and sell items, going to trade worlds, such as W2, and using the forums. This made two separate, and very different trading options. One where you can forfeit low buys for simplicity, and one where you can buy for lower, but wait longer. This also made a very good choice for merchants, able to buy their supplies on the forums, and sell quickly on the GE for good Profit. This has since slowed down for now, but yousee nearly the opposite, forums being used to sell high, and the GE being a cheap, quick way to sell most items. Just looking at some of the GE prices show how much has changed in the economy. the mostly unchanged items are there due to low stock, and the players never wanting to buy for any more than the lowest value allowed, continuously dragging prices lower and lower. I know eventually they will stop, as the profit will be to low, and supply will drop, but as of now, just going into the GE, i can easily buy and sell using only the forums and the GE to merchant very quickly. and still make a decent, although slightly less-than-before-GE merchanted amount in an hour. What do you think?

first iron drag drop
hatebringer replied to yaff2's topic in Achievements (Drops, Bank Pictures and Levels)
very nice, im still yet to get my first drop there -
its not good for training, but good for barrows as it hits 4/6 of the brothers extremely hard.

Well my brother just yelled to me that he lost a ton of money because for some reason his karamja gloves didn't let him buy an uncut onyx for 260k tokkul, so i checked myself, and he is right. Is it a bug or is it permanent? If so, my bro just lost about a mil.

hatebringer replied to hatebringer's topic in Achievements (Drops, Bank Pictures and Levels)
: No problem, and i read what you said about summoning, seems like alot of people want to get that to 99 (me included lol) -
I decided i would recycle my thread and add my Bank picture + a few recent drop pictures. [hide=Original Thread]Not a Huge achievement for me, but I saw it was close, and didn't feel like training any other low skills, so i picked herb. Im probably going to go for all 60+ eventually, then all 70+, just to keep me busy when im super bored, and there is nothing else to do [/hide] [hide=Current Skills][/hide] Bank Picture: (note, im an unorganized person, and only can find things while its like this -.- ) Last recent bank picture before current: ONLY GOOD DROP I EVER GOT EVER worth... 1.6M + i had to share so... 700k Rate/Hate [hide=???] SUMMONING!!! :-X :XD: [/hide]

// Post the Duel Arena Stake Item Prices Here //
hatebringer replied to NukeMarine's topic in General Discussion
The GE will change alot of these prices, and most likely make merchanting very difficult if not wipe it out completely. also alot of Jagex's set prices are alot higher than the player market's value. Here's what i predict will happen when the GE comes out... Lots of players will place their items for much higher than the market value, and then some smart merchants will place their products for slightly lower than the others, and make a decent profit before the prices settle at where they are now, or possibly lower. -
Player Suggestions Jagex Actually Used? (w/ proof)
hatebringer replied to NukeMarine's topic in General Discussion
The 99 capes and bank pin for MTK and houses i both know about, but i never heard the player idea for the dark bow directly. One other could be the suggestion for different PC boats for different leveled players, like 40+ 70+ and 100+. That i believe was suggested by players, and i think Jagex even said higher players suggested it to happen. -
well luckily i sold my red mask just before the crash of rares, so instead of losing about 10m (i bought for 39.5 just before halloween, idk why) i only lost about 4m, but i know a few friend that lost quite alot, and i think the GE is just a way to stop money from coming into the game, making rares steady out, and making them steady, although when no one is selling, the price can still inflate/deflate as much as it can. like if no one is selling a red mask on the GE, someone can post one for alot more, and raise prices by a bit, although making them untradeable, i too would have to quit. Jagex can't take away the fun just to get rid of the RL trades. They need to remove them without hurting us, which they are not doing very great at. I believe Summoning was only announced the way it was to distract players from the Staking removal, and if you have seen, it sorta did that quite a bit.

totally. me and my KQ partner are extremely careful now, but even that doesn't shake the thought that if i die near the need, and my friend has to tele, that my stuff will most likely not be returned, and il be out a good 500k+ I agree, it was a very pointless update, and luckily neither of us has dies, but it is still possible, and the risk will always be there.

well i don't have a drop log, but i can tell you i get quite a few noted yew logs, silver ore noted, iron arrows and un-noted sharks.

Dueling Tournaments - Not Ready for Prime Time
hatebringer replied to qeltar's topic in General Discussion
Wow, very interesting read, and well put together. The one thing i read that follows through is the unfairly matched fights just due to the same ranks of players. Of course the lv 120+ are having a blast, easily owing each round (most of the time, ive seen 120s beat by 100s) but i have won maybe 3 matches, and never come close to a tournament win. I always get matched up with a lv 115 or higher and im only 102, so i usually lose anyways, but the other thing that really ticks me off is the times. If you lose the first round, you will have to wait up to 10 min for the next round, and you cant leave the tournament area, buy anything or do much of anything down there while waiting. I mean honestly, no one really needs 10 min to wait for another tournament. That means if you probably won't win a round, your going to be spending a good portion, up to 70%, of your time just sitting there waiting for another tournament, not to mention long waitings between rounds when it is something like armor+food allowed rules. You could hardly be fighting at all during your stay in the tournament area. Usually i like combat-orientated mini games, but the tournaments just have too many problems for them to be truly enjoyable. I'd rather spend my free time playing CW and gaining tickets for my full gold CW armor than sitting around doing basically nothing, and usually losing each round due to a very unbalanced match-up. -
yeah i agree with you, most likely the creatures, or at least some of the creatures you will be able to summon will come from the list of hnting animals, but you never know. Jagex may flip it up, and we all will be summoning giant rats and scorpions. One thing i don't like to do is guess on the updates, just because there are so many possibilities that may happen or not happen.

I think quite a few people died there. I did, but it was because some guy told me there was treasure up there (back when the hill was a bit tall) so i went up and lost all my beginning stuff, so i logged out, and waited till the next day for my friend to get on, and give me some starting stuff.

Well I've been trying to make a vid from random clips that i have in Windows Movie maker, but when i get over the 1 minute to 1:20 min mark, it just closes itself, and i know it isn't a memory problem, because i also tested closing all of the unnecessary processes running, and it still closes. I just can't figure it out. Anyone know what the problem might be? If this helps, the audio/music files can go up as high as it can go, and doesn't close its just the pictures/videoclips part.

i have to disagree. most people didn't super hardcore "i quit cuz it changed" staking, so most people have come back, or never left Runescape. Staking was a way to make money, and only a few people used it sucessfully, while others went out, lost it all, and never staked again. I agree, that people who staked, and only staked may quit RS because their main fun attraction in Rs is gone, but others who casually staked for a little money will probably move on to other game parts, not to mention Jagex's unveilment of the new skill, which will obviously bring lots of players into the game that have been off for quite some time, especially older players who wanted Summoning back when it was originally announced. Although i see what your saying, they can't have lots a ton of money, because the majority of RS doesn't stake
-
Very good comparison. It is very true, as with the PC update, this happened in almost the same fashion

Summoning being confirmed, other reasons?
hatebringer replied to One Too Far's topic in General Discussion
Well, O actually only just looked at the RS main page a few minutes ago, and.. WOW, never expected summoning to be just announced so openly like that. But i can't say im not happy that is finally out. I've been waiting since i started playing in early '05 for this to come out. -

Whould you give up your right to vote for an Ipod?
hatebringer replied to cryztalwing's topic in Off-Topic
well it kinda depends. Im going to miss this presidental election vote by 3 weeks -.- But, an ipod isn't really worth your chance to choose who is going to run the country for the next 4-8 years, depending if they are impeached or re-elected or other unforeseen causes to be a president long/shorter.
