  1. I thought naming names on these boards was a No-No :shame: , even if it is a famous one.
  2. I always figured the RS kebabs were some british/eurpoean thing that hadn't ever come to America. Seems I was right... Although, now that I know what goes into one, I realize I can make my own American kebabs; they sell pita bread at most grocery stores (my two local Wal Mart supercenters have a variety in the bakery department), and it's not hard to make good shish kabobs. I might just try that someday. Oh, and triquos, it's called educating yourself in the School of Life. Expand your mind and learn about something outside your world.
  3. Yeh, I've also got the RS music muted so I can listen to my WinAmp playlists. I leave the sound effects on, though, as they often give me critical audio cues when I get distracted. The problem for Jagex is, how to make the music sound as good as possible while still keeping bandwidth usage low. Unless you want some serious lag and really long load times, this synth MIDI music is about the best we're gonna get. Unless you mean compositionally, but then there's similar problems; there's not a lot you can do with MIDI that doesn't sound like tin foil in a paper shredder. I'm sure they did their best with what they've got to work with, it's just too bad they don't have much to work with.
  4. I'd probably be playing other games, most likely ROMs, since I can't afford much else. I might get more done on my comic, too, but that's iffy.
  5. its easy to get away from hobs mine.. but i detest the hobsgoblins' relentless disturbance.... The hobs are actually pretty good PKer shields; turn auto retaliate to off, then if a PKer wants to hit you, he has to not only beat off his own hobbie, but then kill yours, by which time you should have already fled. At least, that's how I mine out there.
  6. Yeah, looks like a lag glitch. Lord knows there've been enough of those last few weeks. Send in a bug report if it happens again, but otherwise, I'd just ignore it.
  7. Divulging personal details (i.e. telling people where I live, trading emails/phone numbers with new friends, that kind of thing), uh...if I'm with my friends, language. That's about it for me; I lead a really boring life.
  8. This is actually a fairly decent idea; I agree that as-is, there are too many of the higher level rocks, but the overall idea is sound. I've always felt that the Mining Guild is a waste, especially considering that there are better options right outside the guild in the form of three Addy rocks in the scorpion section of the Dwarf Mine. As for the coal content of the Guild, the Skeleton Mine in the Wild has almost as much coal, and I can get a full inventory faster there than in the always-crowded Guild. Basically, the Mining Guild has been in desperate need for a makeover for years, and this is one of the better ideas.
  9. Getting it to face north isn't that difficult, but getting the compass and the map aligned is a lot harder. Getting the compass, map and game screen all aligned is dang near a miracle. As for the map/screen being misaligned, I think that was on purpose as another ineffective anti-autoer thing; I remember when I first started in RSC, the map and the screen were always perfectly aligned, then the autoers started invading en masse, and so Jagex decided to break their alignment. It worked about as well back then as it does today, meaning it didn't.
  10. Two major f2p updates in as many months isn't enough? Not counting holiday items, this is more than we've gotten in the last two years! It's really more than we deserve, but for some reason Jagex thinks we're worthy of the attention, so just shut up and be grateful, else they think we f2pers are a bunch of ungrateful ingrates and not give us anything else for a long time. I know I'm just happy we've gotten anything more than the occassional graphics update. Just enjoy it and don't worry about if we're going to get anything else; if you don't expect to get anything, it makes it so much sweeter when you get something.
  11. Yeah, but he probably spent like three days of that week just travelling; I've seen friends playing WoW, and it can take up to twenty minutes just to get somewhere...longer if you walk. It suddenly made me less annoyed that it takes only five minutes to walk across the f2p world. He probably napped and took potty breaks during transit.
  12. That's a good way of looking at it. And honestly, I don't think I would mind, personally. RS isn't the most important thing in my life, but it has been a significant part of my life for a few years now, so I really don't think I'd mind a small gravestone or whatever in the game. I know, and everyone who knows me irl knows, that RS isn't my only accomplishment, or even my most important one, so I'm not worried about that. Maybe it's the geek in me, but there's actually something kind of alluring about being "immortalized" in one of my favorite games. Having a gracestone that reads "R.I.P. Dargonhuman" for future players to see and wonder about is kind of appealing for some reason.
  13. Everyone knows there are lots of "unmarked graves" in RS, that is, gravestones that when you examine them say things like "I can't read the name" "Too worn to read" etc. Now, hypothetically, how would you feel if Jagex named some of the graves or statues after 'Scapers who have died in real life? For example, what if The Old Nite had his own memorial statue in-game? Would you feel that that would be an honor to his memory, or an insult of some kind? I ask because I don't know how I feel about it myself; at times I think it'd be a touching way to remember our game peers, and at other times, I feel it trivializes their tragedies. So, which do you think, and why? btw, it's okay if you're as torn on the issue as I am; it is quite a touchy subject, after all.
  14. YOur character is rockin' out to the RuneScape iLyre. It's like a medieval iPod!
  15. It's just a small idea, but anyone think the female Barbarians should be renamed Barbariennes? Just...because ... it's more feminine-sounding? I dunno, it just occured to me today when passing through the Barb village.
  16. Ha! I already graduated from school, so I can play as long as I want! Booya! I love the school season; not nearly as many people on during the day. Mwahaha.
  17. I'm with this guy, though at cb81, I'm not exactly scared of dying, per say, just apprehensive of getting myself deeper into something I might not want to get into. p2p is so far beyond f2p that it's fairly daunting for a p2p "virgin". I think that's the biggest con against not updating f2p with more p2p stuff; eventually, the p2p stuff gets so far away from the f2p that hardly anyone wants to make the jump for fear of falling painfully on their faces. Crazy idea, but what if Jagex created a kind of "Advanced Tutorial Island" for people who are starting p2p for the first time? You know, just something to explain and aid the new members into the new skills, areas and features of p2p?
  18. Yeah, Bomb's probably right about this being the wrong forum, but welcome anyway. A friendly piece of advice, though, is don't color your text; it can make it hard to read your posts on some skins. Otherwise have fun and enjoy yourself!
  19. You know, it actually makes sense that Jagex staff would watch popular fansites like Tip.It, if for no other reason to make sure the fansite isn't using any of their material illegally. It's also a good way to keep better tabs on the issues, concerns and interests of the players. If I made a game that became as popular as RuneScape, I'd definitely keep a watchful eye on any major fansites in order to keep providing content that the players wanted.
  20. Yeah, cause the game is all about you, right? You're the noob; complaining about a new f2p update before it's even been out a full day. Pathetic. Just be glad f2p got any new prayers. Anyway, two f2p updates in as many months?! Whoa! Jagex does love f2p! Wooties! I might just start training my Range again.
  21. I dunno, that's kind of a tough one. I'd probably dump my runecraft into Crafting to start, then if I was able to get another lamp, I'd probably move either my woodcutting or firemaking into my Prayer. If, by some miracle, I got a third lamp...probably transfer my Range into Smithing. Otherwise, I'd leave all my other skills alone.
  22. Says who? Not the thread starter: If this happened to me...hm, I'd probably mine iron and coal in the Dwarf Mine, smith myself some full Steel, head out to the Wild to get enough material for full Mith, plus some Addy ores for quick cash. With that cash, I'd head out to Karamja to get a couple inventories of Swordies, cook and store them, then head down to the Security Stronghold, and after getting a new Sceptre, kill some Ankous for Laws, coins and whatever else they want to drop for me, take the Laws and, after buying some Airs, head out to the Nature Rune island by the Lesser Demons in the Wild, telegrab as many Natures as I could, and bank them. Then I'd either craft or buy some Fires, depending on how much money I had left, smith the Addy ores into Daggers (highest I can make without a Stout), high-alch them and repeat until I had everything back. I'd probably get some sweet levels in, too.
  23. Why? Just so he can get ripped apart by self-appointed vigilante flamers? I can understand why he wouldn't want to do that.
  24. Once when I was lagging kinda bad, I almost alched my r2h; I was aiming for an Iron or Steel Long (I don't remember exactly which, it was a while ago), but the lag made me Equip the Long, which naturally put my 2h in it's place. Just as I was about to alch, I hesitated because something didn't look right. When I figured out what was wrong, I quickly fixed it and alched the right sword. Scared me, though. :ohnoes:
