I'm going for 99 fishing, but I think that feathering is a waste of time... I'm just lobbying all the way. (F2P now)

I really hope not. But I think it will, only because they are cheaper tho.

So no, nobody new is magically going to obtain the patience to go for 99 fishing just because getting feathers is a bit easier. I bet a bunch of people bought a ton of feathers and are going for 99 now, but I doubt many of them will get the level.

People will realize its slower than agility, realize its more boring than cooking, and realize that they are making little to no profit, then quit and go merchant and pk like most RSers do.

Agreed with peronix. I see loads of people at Shilo these days fishing. But I doubt they will last to get 99 fishing, maybe some do.

firstly you could buy feathers much faster from people than you can from shops now(50k gap per buy), and secondly fly fishing in shilo is far from being the best fishing method in runescape(theres a place where you need little to nothing bait and gain a lot more experiance).

Your first assumption is a fallacy, as you have to spend time tracking down someone with enough feathers for you to buy. You would spend much less time just going to a shop now.

 

 

 

And the second method is amazing, but if you want sheer "sit back and relax" fishing, Shilo is the best method. The barbarian fishing is very attention oriented if you want the fastest xp in the game.

more boring then cooking? i dunno, i dont like mass cooking because of the fact that you have to pay attention more then fishing. when fishing i can typically watch tv better then cooking.

I collected all the Feathers for 99 Fishing myself a while ago (took lme 6 weeks and 1 day), but I still don't have the 99 Fishing. It still needs the patience, which you can't buy.

 

Won't get that levek soon either, stopped playing that account and playing an other now.

 

 

 

But I don't think it'll become easier for fishing. Maybe Fletching? But not Fishing.

I fully disagree, i believe it's the other way. A *true* skiller might not want to take the easy way, and lose money, they would want to take the better, if slower route and get 99 fishing doing monks or something. One of my friends is a skiller, he fished sharks to 99. I fished monks to 90 so far, and it's way better then fly fishing. I think the standard player would want the fast easy way, and go with fly fishing.

I'd define true as in doing it a good logical way and working hard

 

 

 

However in all technical terms a true skiller is one that goes for speed and xp alone and therefore does the fly fishing

The vast majority of the runescape community are not dedicated enough to get any 99's. AKA me.... that's why you see more players than not without skill capes.

No-Lifers already know of the ways to obtain feathers before this update so no.

 

 

 

The average 'main account' would also know of feathers and where to obtain them, so no.

 

 

 

Pures, some pures are knowledgeable of runescape, some aren't, most wouldn't even go for 99 fishing.

 

 

 

The chances one of those groups complete the road to 99fishing is 2/3s for no-lifers, 1/3 of main accounts, and 0.5/3 for pures. Of course I just estimated those numbers. ^^ Also, I'm inputting each account into three main groups, no matter how rough it is.

Well, it tends to even out while other skill's 99s grow too. Same ratio just more, it'll happen it can't stay low forever.

Usually, it's much better to set a more recurring goal (get 1k of said fish) than to actually spend weeks doing the said skill. It gives your mind a break.
