Ville, you're going down this year. I'm pulling out all the stocks on this one.

J.K. might get it since that stunt she pulled with Dumbledore is causing some .

It would be Al Gore, but I bet a bunch of Harry Potter fanboys (and girls) are going to be polling up Rowling's votes like nobody's business.

Yup and I don't think Rowling deserves it. She's just an author who wrote some popular books who a lot of people like. She didn't do something that is world changing thing or influenced a lot of people

EDIT: I just realized that my post made no sense, revised it a little :)

Considering the state of things on a global scale, I wouldn't mind them skipping this for a year or two...

Yeah, seriously. I can't even fathom how anyone could nominate her. All she did was write some extremely popular books and nothing more. They weren't some huge innovation, they aren't going to change the way things are written from now on; all they're going to be is popular books.

I'd say Al Gore. If you like him or not, he's trying to make this world a better place. Anyone who does that, is someone who gets my vote.

The thing about Gore is, though, that most of what he did was in 2006 and before. Sure, Man of the Year 2006 would've been good, but this year...

I really don't care who gets it...the guy down the street can get it for all I care...as long as it's not Al Gore, Hillary Clinton, and ESPECIALLY not J.K. Rowling.

Come on, she wrote a few books. I'm sure she'll be nominated like no tomorrow, but if she gets it, I will have lost all faith in humanity as a whole.

I voted for Mahmoud Ahmadinejad just for the hell of it. That man has so much balls in standing up for his country's rights in international politics, I can't decide if it's funny or if the man rocks.

Since the IAEA found no proof Iran is even capable of producing WMD of any sort (he claimed all along the projects are there for making nuclear energy, just like a lot of western countries do). That was a harsh blow against the US/EU but they still keep pressuring his country for "WMD" (new general accusation of the 21st century?)

But an author for children's books? What the heck? A fantasy writer writing about a school of witchcraft is the most important person of 2007? :?

I personally chose J. K. Rowling, because of her insane book sales.

I voted Putin so he does not poison my tea.

With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.
