We had a great response with nearly 300 applications sent in. Since then, we've sorted through those and narrowed it down some more. We've been going through those left, and we now have a group of Moderator Trainees ready to be announced. Please join me in welcoming Abelmisi, archimage_a, Mamong, Necromagus, runemetsa, and Shazarabbit as the first group of Trainees. They have shown great initiative thus far, and I'm sure they'll all do a wonderful job. I'm sure we'll get through this horrific moment. In any case, the admins control the site and it's rules so I don't see why they shouldn't bend the rules slightly for the better if they want to. Infact it's illogical for them to be bound to rules to the extent a user is. This is supposed to be a thread congratulating people who have put a fair bit of time and effort in to get to the point we are at and all you want to do is complain. I don't actually see anything wrong with opening up the thread, but I wish to know which thread actually suggested this since I have yet to seen any such threads that is against posting in the original announcement thread during my rather frequent browsing of the Forum updates & suggestions forum.
