Went to Meadowhall in Sheffield today. It is damn huge and now my feet hurt. Didn't buy many things that I wanted 'cause I was with the mother and she doesn't like us buying rrp clothing/shoes.

Gotta make a resume to give to jobs. I really want to put my personal blog on there, which I am about to update with a new theme that I hand coded and am pretty proud of, but the blog is named "Lobsters on Opium" which may not go down too well with potential employers. :(

I don't want to change the name either, because that's dumb.

Got some information on my University orientation today. They've already divided us into groups, which means I'll probably be with no one I know. I was hoping they'd let us go with friends.

Spent far too much of today playing this

I'm ashamed to admit I just built the time machine.

I'm on time machine 57 with a cps of 54.9 million.

Worked for 10 hours and then played runescape :D

Spent an hour reading the threads about RS3 and this Battle of Lumby thing in the General forums.

That puts perspective on how bored I was yesterday.

Weeeee. My car has been breaking down lately whenever I drive for a while. Had to take it into the mechanic after it broke down right as I got home from a 5 minute drive into town. Picked it up yesterday and it broke down before I got home. So it's back in today and I told them to take it for a drive to see what I mean.

Today I discovered that the annoying guy at work who calls me for help all the time knows my home number. So much avoiding him during my week off. :wall:

My mum has this same problem, but with an overseas company using a local number so it looks like they're local. It's now under DO NOT ANSWER on the home phone.

Go to another Mechanic and never return to that one. You car shouldn't be breaking down while getting back home.

Create a new blog with some lorem ipsum posts to show off your theme without risking offending a future employer

I suppose that's not a bad idea, actually. I don't know why I didn't think of that.

and when someone asks, "so if this is yr personal blog why are your entries all nonsense?" say "... you can't read them?"

Updated my blog (after neglecting it for a month) and going out tonight to watch my friend perform. Dunno if I have a place to crash at, if not then I'll only be able to drink a bit.

Hahaha, that's not it, it's a difficult issue to figure out, however I've spoken with a friend with the same car and so now I know exactly what causes it to occur. When driving at 80km/h with 91 octane fuel it will start misfiring, with 95 octane it occurs at 100km/h. It explains why it always happens to me, since the roads near me are all 80-100km/hr, and why the mechanic couldn't find the problem, since the roads are 50-60km/h near them. I really hope it can be fixed, only can get a car if I borrow money, which I'd have to ask my parents for as I'm only casual.

Got stuck at a random road block for 30 minutes today. Was weird because it's the first time i've ever seen one here (been living here 6 years). When i got to the front they let me pass without checking anything, but they stopped all the cars that had Indian/Pakistani/Sri Lankan/Nepalese drivers in. I think they must have been looking for someone. It was so weird.

Finally finished moving into my dorn room which means I can sleep naked now

Three months banishment to 9gag is something i would never wish upon anybody, not even my worst enemy.

I was educated on the nerd genius of Max Landis today. If you have any respect for comics, you will too.

What benefits does full/part-time offer? I don't get sick, I don't go on holidays. Which means the higher base pay is something I can use.

When I worked as a casual worker, it felt slightly... better, in a weird way.

If I decided to wake up one morning and not go into work, it would be stupid of course because my chances of being offered further shifts would drop dramatically. You had to keep up a reputation for being reliable. On the other hand though... I had that choice. And if my manager tried forcing me to do a shift when we were working out off-duties for the weeks ahead, I always knew I could just say "No" if I didn't want to work that day. I felt better and more positive on shift because I'd actively chosen to work. I know a couple of retired nurses who've stayed on as bank who describe feeling a similar way, even if their pay has dropped substantially. Job security would eventually have been a serious issue, though, had I carried on with it. I could've been sacked at any point for just about any reason (good or bad) and would only have been legally entitled to an hour's notice.

In other news, my country bucked recent trends by deciding not to jump on a war-bound bandwagon.

Got a hair cut today. The lady put gel in it without me asking.

My thoughts were, "What, am I like, 12?" But I knew her intentions weren't bad at all. I'll end up washing it out in a bit anyway to get rid of all the little hair snippets still on my head and neck.

On the final leg of packing my stuff up. Last to go will be my PC and Xbox. I'll still want to use those tonight since I'll be bored otherwise.

I have to use gel or something similar, or my hair turns into an afro. I use something called styling crème, I think.

Yeah, see, I also used to think hair products for dudes were the domain of preteens. Then I realized how fabulous I look with American Crew Fiber in my hair.

Got to experience Dave Chappelle's utter train wreck of a set in Hartford tonight. Crowd was awful and would not stop yelling, so he sat on the stage in front of 10,000 fans, smoked cigarettes, read from a book, and talked about random shit until his 30 minutes were up, then promptly left. Crowd booed him off stage, but in my opinion it was really the crowd's fault for it. Be prepared to read about this in the news. It was a very surreal moment. I've never seen anything like it before.

On a brighter note, Dimitri Martin performed a surprise set, Flight of the Conchords was good, and the other comedians were very entertaining.
