In the video at around one minute he says he quit for the new expansion of farmville or something. But the timing coinsides with the release with the large expansion for wow, cataclysm (december 7th). Which is where perhaps some got the idea that he is going to play that, although i can't speak for Squisher. That's what my understanding was when i watched the video.

I couldn't disagree more. Updates are what makes Runescape such a great game. Without them I would have quit this game years ago.

I've been hearing that since I've started playing 5 years ago. Either the game was so incredible awesome 5 years of destroying it didn't do much damage, or it's just not as bad as people say.

It was incredibly awesome in '05-06, and since mid- 07, they've just been grilling this game on their bbq. If you'd quit in 2007, and came back now, you'd be like "is this RS or what?"

 

TOTALLY DIFFERENT GAME.

Graphics < And now don't say they're better now, the current graphics just do nóóót fit RS, more like WoW

Old armour/scimitars/hitting players emotes < i.e The D Scimmy has been looking like an erection for ages now

WILDERNESS, the dangerousity of it, now you can't even lose your way in there because of the huge BH Volcano taking up half of the used-to-be-scary Wilderness.

Staking

No Trade Limit (I remember December 24, 2006. I was on my low-level account in Lumb, and some guy gave me and others loads of stuff as part of a xmas clan advertising programme)

No overpowering

No 10x HP

Items like the Xmas 2005 Scarfs, Yo-yo &&.

100x nicer community

No D Claws

No D Bow

No GSes (until August 2007)

If people haven't noticed, the entire attitude towards creating games has changed over the last 5 years. There is a big shift away from grinding & MMO's especially are becoming more like social hubs than animated excel sheets. IF Runescape was still following the same format as it was 5 yrs ago with slow xp etc, they'd be losing out bigtime.

 

Those that don't enjoy the game being easier per se, are going to be severely disappointed in any MMO they play from now on. It's a lot easier to appeal to desperate housewives than basement dwellers. After all they pay the same amount of money and one is incredibly easier to cater for one, than the other.

 

However effigies were a daft update as it reinforced bias toward combat, and made the secondary skills, clear-cut support skills. Which is fair enough - but then you have to ask yourself what's the point of having the secondary skills in the 1st place, if the game's emphasis is on combat. Most other games revolve around Combat and have a small crafting based system to support. That's what made Runescape unique in that aspect. One easier way to fix effigies would be use the support skills to open it. But the lamp is only able to be spent on combat skills, (Not summoning). (Since that is how it is obtained) That way it doesn't make the slower support skills completely redundant.

My condolences to you. I know that Zarfot was your favorite player, and it must have been an absolute shock for you to find out about this. In fact, I'm surprised you're survived that shock! Just letting you know that I fully understand what you must be going through right now, so if you want to talk about it then I'm here for you man. You just gotta stay strong man, just gotta stay strong...alright peace.

 

OT: Nowaii man, I heard Zarfot quit for Conquer 2.0 which is releasing a new class (Monk) soon. Also, I think we can all agree that effigies ruined the game for many people (including me) unless you're an EasyScaper :thumbup: runecrafters only being a part of that list , and it's also funny that this subject has come up now that Zarfot has quit while this has honestly been going on for a long time already lol.

Edit: OH YEAH, it's also a sad time for people who love Runetracker - since it now takes them over 9000 years to remove people with fake records, then once they do remove them it takes less than 9000 seconds for another fake record to show up, then they take over 9000 years again to remove THAT one. Aka, exp records have lost alot of their value aswell now. :thumbdown:

hi, and are you still playing rs 18-19 hours / day atm? your exp gains are low, or are you destroying a minigame to snatch later a record with zeals?

I think his exp gains are low because he is making money instead of serious skilling and he does snatch some wc records (1-2m on days) sometimes. :P

Second, some people on this thread, myself included, are wondering if you plan on getting another skill to 200M anytime soon seeing that there are now 3 players with 7 skills at 200M and especially Telmomarques looking to be in a good position to get 200M pray and herblore.
