For the sake of NOT reading 9 pages, is it possible to boost levels to use/assist in the use of effigies?

 

Also, no, you can't get 29k assist xp via smaller gains and then a full 15k to push your over the 30k limit if anyone was wondering.

You will be cut off at the point of 30k. So then 14k exp would be 'lost'. The max is 30k, doesn't matter in what bunch you get it.

It's ending up like WoW. It's all graphics and gameplay with absolutely no in-game story.

 

Did they do another 9 year rollback?! But I got so many good drops! It's a reasonable price to pay as long as they got rid of every bit of story element in the game. When can I get glowing eyes and ride a tiger?

All this assist system stuff bewilders me a tad.

 

Yes it is capped at 30k, but isn't it just that you can only gain 30k xp from it; not that it locks out at 30k xp. So in terms of doing it for friends etc unless ur greedy greddy greddy you can do loads in 1 day just won;t get xp for it.

Once that person hits the 30k xp limit, they cannot assist again that day. It doesnt work. Already tried it :(

So is there an effigy clan chat yet? Seems like the most efficient way to pair people up. Better than ticking off the FFDN in their quest to help people get double nats.

If they re-hauled the Assist system for this, it'd be nice to have the cap raised to 50k, or set it to 30k in each skill.

 

Then again, once things settle after this update news blows over, we might not have as much demand for effigy services.

I'm on a streak today, 3 effigies (desert strykewyrms, spectres and living rock creatures).

 

I like the update, most exp extras offer almost nothing, these are quite different. Plus I've assisted 60kish extra rc exp already, which is always cool :3

One would think this would have been the situation from the start. How Jagex survived Grade school we will never know.

Havent really tried hunting them yet, but I was at the GE and somebody was asking for 99 herblore assist. I offered my services, expecting it to be a another misinformed person who thought I could help him in making overloads, but suddenly I get 30k xp at once. Forgot about the update, so it was a nice surprise.

my problem with this update isn't that it doesn't introduce backstory (although it certainly would have been a good opportunity). it's that it really isn't new content. it's just a new form of experience lamp that is, essentially, irrelevant to gameplay. every now and then someone with 91+ in a skill will get 15-30k free xp in it, whoop dee doo. the last update of exciting scale was FTP3, and that was just because it represented jagex actually finishing a quest series, not because the story, quest gameplay, or rewards were groundbreaking. there's dungeoneering of course, and the only other notable updates this year have been nomad's requiem and strikewyrms. in 6 and a half months we have gotten 4 updates that could possibly excite people. when will we get a new boss, another big quest, another good minigame?

You can get it from LS, but only if you did the most damage to corp. As I'm sure you know, Jagex answered this in their q&a. But how did you miss the last part...? :blink:

i did mean for soloing, i konw the clan thing so yes thats what i mean, whats the corp solo effigy rate?

 

you can get from any high lvl mosnter so that includes corp, and people solo all the time

 

but ive head about the whold coinshare/lootshare thing, i just want to know if anyone knows corps effigy droprate so far, in solo for example

 

also you could get form ffa since ur not in a ls clan you just every man for himself, it counts as a solo drop

 

ill check no vesta cc for rate later but for now my question still stands

Whatever the droprate at corp is, it will not be a good place to specifically get them as you can only manage a few kills in the time you would kill hundreds of semi-high level monsters, just like you wouldn't go kill kree arra for left halves. I finally managed to get another effigie, 2 of them inside 900k slayer xp now, but i've most likely just gotten very unlucky(looking at how many some other people have managed to get). As a modest guess, i'd say that armored zombies/black demons/dark beasts/abyssal demons could be the best monsters to specifically camp for effigies.

Yeah, just bad luck I think. I've gotten four effigies in about 300k slayer experience.

Well this isn't too horrible compared to some other things they have done over the years... Some people maxed out before slayer, some people got 99 slayer befoee summoning, it's just the nature of how this game is run..

 

40k slayer xp separatating my second and third drop, and yet again, from dark beasts. I have a feeling that the second drop was long, long overdue lol.
