  • Well I've sorted that one out.     Every time I put my architectural skills to use in Minecraft, I keep thinking how stained glass is not a thing yet. How is it not a thing?

  • Apologies for late reply but I am not very active on tipit and don't play runescape at all anymore.   I have had a few pretty big mod reviews! It kind of blew up and snowballed at some point, most con

I'm not sure if the Xbox version has the far lands as well, we must test this, FOR SCIENCE.

It's hard-coded to a certain size, so there are no "far lands."

What's a favorite game/movie/book I play/watch/read to many that I can't even pick one...

Make King's Landing from A Song of Ice and Fire.

EDIT: that might be a little too much for a 1000x1000 map though. Maybe Winterfell or a smaller hold.

I'll make the hold of House Darry :D

Like I said, we need to test it. The far lands in minecraft is really just a bug, the result of the map generator messing up. It could happen. Besides it was a joke.

Maybe Winterfell or a smaller hold.

Small?

That's why I added "Or a smaller hold." I didn't think Winterfell would fit well on a 1000x1000 map (which he's stuck with) and still leave you room for other interesting builds.

So how grid does one of those map items cover? I normally stick to one of those, because I dislike travel time (though I can always set up a portal system if need be), and because I've never figured out how to get a new map going rather than just wandering off it.

You're asking about how much land does the map, map out?

Well the tile you build the map on is where the center of it is first of all, and then it covers a 1024x1024 area.

360 (Beta 1.6.6): For those who don't already know, the bug which makes clay rarer than diamonds will possibly be fixed in a bug update in the net few weeks. Thank heavens, because making everything out of wood and stones is getting pretty boring. The next proper update will be Beta 1.7.3 (pistons, shears, stackable fences, despawning squid). Likely for July, which means the Xbox edition, effectively in Beta, will be even further behind the PC version than it was on release, despite the aim being to bring the Xbox edition eventually in-line with the PC version.

I eventually decided where to place a portal yesterday and entered the Nether. I placed the portal in the centre of the map so, obviously, it made the Nether's portal nearer to the centre as well. The ghast that was attacking me at the centre could also attack me from the bedrock edges (coded in, because of the world size limit), it's that small.

I'm also not sure why the leaderboard feature has a column for pumpkins, baring in mind pumpkin farming is literally impossible at the moment apart from what you happen to find lying on the surface to start with. unsure.gif

You can really gauge how empty this version is right now by watching the Yogscast Xbox Let's Play. A lot of the time they're deliberately dragging it out to fill a fifteen minute episode.

My leaderboard stats already reset one time for no reason at all, which pissed me off a lot. I don't care where I rank in regards to others, it was just awesome to see how many blocks I've mined and stuff I've killed. Now the stats are going to be off quite a bit.

Every time I try to buy the game, it always says it can't transfer the money. I've tried it with three different cards now, and it won't work. <_< This is why I hate buying things over the internet...

Outside the bounds of the map. That's hilarious.

While it isn't the GAME Minecraft, it's ABOUT Minecraft, and anyone with L4D2 should definitely get it.

This is like 3 months old. I was up to something like 150k stone mined or so.

Anyways, does anyone here play minecraft anymore? This thread has been pretty dead, so I don't think many people play anymore.

[bleep] the law, they can eat my dick that's word to Pimp

Not really. Lost interest a while and moved on to other games.

My relaxation method involves a bottle of lotion, beautiful women, and partial nudity. Yes I get massages.

I still play occasionally, but I mainly stick to using mods, or Super Hostile maps.

Plain old vanilla Minecraft is just too easy and boring for me now, lol.

I still play, just haven't had much to post here.

Get back here so I can rub your butt.

Playing standard has gotten boring for me too. Even with mods, the base of the game is dull for me.

I wanna build something cool though, but I don't know what. :\

Yeah, this is more or less the reasoning behind me only playing Super Hostile maps now - Minecraft on it's own lacks a goal, and I don't really have the ability to arbitrarily set goals for myself.

That being said, even if I'm actively playing a map, I'm also spending a good chunk of my time in creative mode on a test world, building and testing various things - lever/piston operated melon/pumpkin farm harvesters, different formats of animal pens, etc. I attempted to create an animal pen format that I could keep several pairs of "breeding only" animals set aside, while I could pull a lever causing the rest to be flooded out of the main pen to be slaughtered (even going so far as building various methods of using fall damage and fire to try to automatically cook and kill them so I could skip that part.

... Maybe Dwarf Fortress is affecting me more than I thought >.>

I've never really pulled all of my theories and builds together, though. I think I enjoy the experimentation part more than the building part sometimes, but it's still quite satisfying actually building some of this stuff in survival.

Dwarf Fortress

Hm, this gives me an idea.
