i wish they were less crazy with the warehouse upgrade prices, there's no way in hell anybody will have a use for that much jade that will pay back that cost so it's basically a requirement to get to the last upgrade without actually caring about the benefits, much like every other damn skill in runescape

Pretty much. It would be sweet if they gave a worthwhile % bonus to trades goods for the last warehouse but that would be beneficial and we'd hate to see that.

Well, if you consider that PoP will remain an active piece of content for probably a couple of years at least, then it makes sense that eventually the warehouse will pay back its initial cost...

Not that that is very useful if Jagex doesn't add a use for extra port resources. After getting all of the upgrades, etc, what good will 25k+ extra stainless steel do us?

Honestly once things settle as far as progression in ports it wont be the warehouse costs that you'll be complaining about. I can already tell that its going to be finding crew/captain replacements and/or switching the shipwright or lodgings for those aficionados.

Yes. Fourth ship helps tremendously.

"Night gathers, and now my watch begins. It shall not end until my death. I shall take no wife, hold no lands, father no children. I shall wear no crowns and win no glory. I shall live and die at my post. I am the sword in the darkness. I am the watcher on the walls. I am the shield that guards the realms of men. I pledge my life and honor to the Night's Watch, for this night and all the nights to come."

Yes, get your 4th ship, if you have no problem hitting the speed cap. If you do, get the rudder first.

Wonder how many of us get full set of armour just for personal use ? Its free tier 80 armour so why whine about stats.

You say the word "free". I don't think that word means what you think it means. Any item that takes the investment of time and effort that these are requiring should not be labeled free.

So your choices are to get the "free" level 85 version, or to make the tradeable version and sell it to buy level 80 armor?

I get the feeling that this wasn't thought through very well

To buy level 80 armour which is better*

Important difference.

It's better stats-wise, or it's better because you don't have to jump through hoops to repair it? I wasn't sure which

(I do remember your post about them being effectively the same because of the way defense works, at any rate)

How much speed do I need to fully reduce voyages in the Bowl?

2800~ for normal voyages, 3500~ for the long ones

It's better because of damage bonuses and because armour doesn't really help at bosses, afaik

In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers.

Not that that is very useful if Jagex doesn't add a use for extra port resources. After getting all of the upgrades, etc, what good will 25k+ extra stainless steel do us?

Jagex could change the system so that players can repair the tradeable armor using port resources. That would give a big extension to the game life of PoP.

I'm not sure what the balance of resources should be, but what would players think if for body repair it took 4000 chimes, 3000 cherrywood, 2000 jade, 1000 steel and 8 Plate to repair the melee chest armor with similar proportion of resources for head and legs? For untradeable, players can spend either half that or use gp like now.

Something along those lines would make upgrading the warehouse and collecting resources a big factor in continuing PoP. First, ten repairs would be the same trade good cost as making a new piece of armor. However, the resources makes 10 repairs cost much more overall than buying new sets. Tradeable armor then gets used much more in high risk boss and PvP situation. Since on death it becomes degraded, it becomes a valuable drop in PvP combat.

There is no point sending a ship with 14000/12000 in a stat. Keep 1 leveled crewmember in the port, he might come in handy on the 4th ship.

Pretty crazy it took me so long to figure that out...

There is if you want your crew to level up...

Usually if I am in that situation I will send an unrelated low-level crew member (eg combat instead of morale). Unless all your crew are maxed out, you should never leave empty spaces on ships.

in as far as only the last upgrade will actually be of any use, but all of the upgrades leading up to it do not serve any purpose at all besides wasting your resources, since once you've bought everything at each tier, everything after is wasted, since the later regions take longer after full advancement to actually get to the next region that you end up piling on all this stuff you don't need for it

if the cost was lower (making it an actual choice whether or not you should buy it instead of ship upgrades) or if the bonus was higher (pays itself off earlier so that there is actually a point to buying the upgrade as opposed to saving up for other things) it would have a purpose, but currently it is a less expensive cosmetic upgrade (as opposed to the port portal lol) which is really just a phoned in palette swap

Iridium you can send something else in its place like a merchant, or something of another crew type you don't need that round.

Oh Jagex, why do you tease me so....

I'm 1 scroll off completing the Seasinger set, but haven't seen a Chi mission for ages, hence I'm stuck on 15.

Now, do I complete the scrolls, or go for the Chi ?

Scrollvoyages_zps5bcfcc9c.png

Scroll.

Chi becomes progressively easier when you get to the Pincer, but scrolls become harder.

Yeah my priority in trade good is:

1st focus: Lacqeur; I got no really good ranged gear other then ranged void.

Second: Plate; Using T70 at the moment as T80 isn't really viable for me.

At last Chi; I got at the moment Ganodermic Armour, so that should last for a while.
