December 12, 200718 yr I'm not really sure I understand the people that refuse to see a clear number difference, I initially made the post to find out if there actually was a difference, there is that is fairly conclusive, at the low point there is a 20k drop in players. The reason for this maybe totally due to bots, or it maybe down to players quitting or it may just be down to weather, those are all debatable, but the fact that their is a drop at all is not debatable.. there is a cleear and distinct drop of numbers online at the low point, clear is very clearly 1/3rd down. I know it for sure because as I said, I know when I play that these are very, very low unheard of numbers. Some people just like to argue lol. The Runescape Wilderness - Meili's Blog
December 12, 200718 yr Most RWT'ers quit, that explains the drop 8-) I suggest changing your topic title since it's a clear exaggeration, 100K+ people playinh right now and it isn't even peak-time (that's around 20:00 GMT+1). - Back to casual f2p scaping due to limited time (university and girlfriend ) -

December 12, 200718 yr I saw 170k online last night at a time I usually see 175-180k. I don't see much of a drop at the times I play. Although, with all the Rwt'ers forced to quit, I would expect some people to see significant drops. PoetryIndexed Picture 1Indexed Picture 2 Killed my maxed Zerker pure April 2010 Rebooting Runescape

December 12, 200718 yr Newsflash Folks: The time of day when the '20k' dropoff is occurring, is during normal woking hours in̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâæ. Drumroll please̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâæÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâæ. China! The peak period has the same number of players, indicating that the pkers, or real people who play RS, are actually still playing and there has not been a noticable drop off in players playing on a week day/night compared to 7 days ago. Sure there are a handful of quitters, but likelihood is they will be back. The '20k' dropoff I concur is made up primarily of bots/goldfarmers etc. Some will say "but they will play for another month to maximise the RWT window". The answer is that Jagex have already blocked them. All new bots cannot trade to mules, so they are useless. Existing bots that have been marked as showing suspicious behaviour have also been marked and cannot xfer gp/goods above the 3k limit. I am sure most bot families will have been marked with suspicious behaviour, hence few will be capable of performing, same goes for the mules, and masters. I once estimated the number of bots working on the servers, and it was around the 20k mark during my prime time (which is close to Chinas working hours). This was based on visual counts at popular bot spots on medium populated servers during normal working hours for China. I thought then it was probably on the low side, as it did not account for drag bots, nat running bots, or other low volume gold farmers. It was mainly based on flax pickers, woodcutters and fishers. Seems like Jagex have killed off the bots for the time being at least, lets hope it stays this way.
December 12, 200718 yr Things will return to normal in a few weeks or so. The kids are crying because their little toy was painted a different colour, that's all. I couldn't have said it better myself.
December 12, 200718 yr I don't about all of you, but I've got like 160k+ right now online, or so I read. Darklinglory's blog of just about everything reachable but will more than likely drive me insane in doing so! ^Super truth^
December 12, 200718 yr I just thought of one thing, maybe autoers were near half the amount of the total players playing, no?
December 12, 200718 yr Some people in RSOF where spamming around posting a mass log-out to protest the updates...Might be happening now.. 99 FM Acheived on Friday December 26th 2008Click for my blog|Mass Effect Discussion Thread|Nation Creation/Create your own Country Forums
December 12, 200718 yr Well considering you posted this at like 8PM PST, on a Monday, I've seen it that low. It's a weekday, kids have school. I'd say not even 1/4th of people actually quit due to the update. There's over 100k players who play on busy hours. I bet they lost like 10k, that's 10%, they're still making money and still making profits. Maybe it's good, less people playing means less autoers, less people in training spots, etc. I'd say atleast 1-3 thousand of those numbers were autoers alone on various worlds. Wolfy is Officially Retired.I miss you all (Well, mostly my friends n stuff)If you want to talk to me, send me a message, I check the boards daily. :D

December 12, 200718 yr I have never used a bot, but... The rs economy evolved to where bots were necessary, and now that they are gone, the economy is unstable, and the iron grip on the prices certainly doesn't help. How are people going to buy ess, when you HAVE to buy for 93 each, and 100,000 people are fighting for the 50k ess that gets mined per day?
December 15, 200718 yr Like many have already posted... [20] <[XX]RuneScript> *** [ PLAYERS ]: There are currently 232,238 players online on 150 servers (1548/server, 77.41% capacity). The online record is 253,469 set on Dec 9 2007. 232238 players and still rising. Where's your god now? 8-)
December 15, 200718 yr It could be that its 8:00-11:00 PM in the United States which most of the RS players are at and are currently sleeping or watching Night TV. Luckily i can do both  what? sleep and watch tv? i want to know how you do it!
December 15, 200718 yr It will be back to normal.. :|How? And what will be back to normal? PKing? Merchanting? Staking? If the CORPORAL beast is this hard, imagine how hard a GENERAL or COLONEL beast would be. a corporal is not even an admirable rank in armies that use that ranking system. Yeah, it is a pking minigame, so any arguments anybody makes will probably be biased. The best way this will end :Everybody just says,"I'm not arguing with you anymore, goodbye."The worst way this will end: I don't really know, psychological warfare? Worldwide thermonuclear war? Pie eating contest?

December 16, 200718 yr It's a school night. Also there are massive ammounts of poweroutages in the Midwestern United States right now. But mostly because it's a school night. really? i live in illinois the so called "mid west" area and i have power. perhaps a bit more westernly? Mostly Iowa... I'm in wisconsin and got lucky, just missed me. [blingkachi50]
December 16, 200718 yr I'd say it's either a really bad time of day for players to be online OR lots of people are hating the updates now. I personally dont ENJOY them, but don't HATE them.
December 16, 200718 yr IMO At the beggining there were less players , cuz the bots (and some loosers) were offline ... ATM there are more ppl then before ... if we consider that the bots are off ... right now there are more accaunts online then before and if the bots arent online that meens that the player population is bigger .. or something like that
December 16, 200718 yr Its been 100k+ players since yesterday from what I've seen. But maybe its just bcuz its Friday and Saturday 00:00:0500:00:0400:00:0300:00:0200:00:0100:00:00 Break the Walls down!
