Beloved
[hide=]yea i know, but alot of u guys are complaining about getting bones so i just threw that out there. can understand what the prayer-X option is about, but i haven't tested it yet to see how good it is. It hasn't been released, they're simply saying this.... If they add Prayer-X it will take away the "wow!" from seeing someone with a Prayer cape. ^^ I agree with what they're saying. I never, ever had the "wow" effect for Prayer ever since Construction was released. I see you people whining and [bleep] about a skill being nerfed... going from 450k xp/hr to 240k xp/hr... DO YOU EVEN HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT 240K/HR IS? It's still vastly more than my best 36k xp/hr at ZMI, the fastest RC xp/hr available for me. 450k an hour? lol noob stfu, its always been 250k/hour at the best get some real levels before going around judging everything, better yet gtfo and go to rsof where you belong Actually, no. It's more than 250k/hour. Even seen Zarfot train prayer?[/hide] im sure when you go full out that you can increase the exp/h rate quite a bit but thats exceptional and i wouldnt recommend it health-wise :P but no i havent seen the vids

Mercifull
People whine about EVERYTHING on RS these days, it's depressing. It doesnt make it any faster or cheaper it just removes needless clicking which can only be a good thing as it enables people to chat to friends more in private or clan chats. Mercifull <3 Suzi "We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape. If we let players start doing this, it devalues RuneScape for others. Dragonlordjl
I don't know why people are whining about this. It reduced the wrist strain, but it also make it where you can't get 5m+ prayer exp in a single day. If you were decent with mouse keys, it was possible to get 400-600k an hour. Zarfot got 700k an hour, but he was l337.
Saradomin_Mage
It just seems to me like Jagex is trying to cap xp rates, by forcing you to take a certain amount of time that you can in no way minimize to perform a skill action for xp. Puts everyone on a level playing field, but there are people who want that extra speed, and would be willing to play "harder" for it. In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers.
Michaael
The accomplishment of a high prayer level was NEVER the clicking aspect. Anyone who thinks that is quite misinformed. It's all about the MONEY. Honestly, you can't compare the difficulty of making the money for 99 prayer to using the bones. The money portion of the skill blows away the clicking by a mile and a half. To be honest this has almost 0 effect on my opinion of a prayer cape. I don't respect people getting carpal tunnel over a game (kudos to Jagex for realising that's NOT what games are about) but I do respect someone who has the patience to get all the money for 99 prayer AND dish it all out on one skill (that last part is much harder than many people realise). As far as xp/hr goes it is still very fast xp (the way it should be). People whining should thank their wrists it's this way, people whining that they don't respect a prayer cape anymore (/care  ) need to realise it's still a damn hard skill and this update has changed nothing for the worse. You just hit the nail on the head =D> 5,693rd to 99 Slayer on 10/08/2009
zotto
If you are worried about your wrists get a drawing pad. For instance the "Bamboo One" is small and cheap and can be used as a mouse replacement. It takes some getting used to, but it is fine after a while. My wrist complaints disappeared completely after I switched to one. I still use a mouse on another computer but the mouse time has been reduced so much that it doesn't bother me any more. You change the position of your wrist because you are holding a pen. For some reason it is a bit more natural than a mouse. No clue why. And on the topic of nerfing. I think prayer was nerfed when the POH altar came into the game. I can still remember how laborious the process was via the ecto method. And of course this already nerfed prayer from when it was only possible to bury bones. Imagine that was still the only option. :ohnoes:

Ollyc3
Elaborate on the "why" please. I don't see what's wrong with it. It isn't faster, it just removes the clicking frenzy. Of course you dont see whats wrong with it, you got 99 already. wouldnt the fact that he has 99 give him the right to say that? considering he already did it the hard way No. 2376/2376 total achieved - May 2009 Retired Dec 2009

Krampell
The annoying thing about it is that you offer bones slower then you used to do to. The same thing happened to stringing a bow. The x-option made it slower. its a trade-off krampell, jagex had this decision to make: keep it as is, so strain on wrists and real work for better xp/h rate or no strain on wrists, more relaxing (and enjoyable!) for a bit lower exp/h rate. i know what i would have wanted when i got 99 pray :P The thing I worry the most about is if I can still use all bones in my iventory and my pack yak with only lighting the burners once. I think i can't do that anymore because of the decrese of speed there. So now you lose two spots for a extra pair of marrentills. Another thing is that d bones are sure to go up in price now... zaborgttm92
I am for this update, but only if it could be made optional. I preferred the old exp rate and expected my 99 prayer to come from a frenzy of clicks like many before me. Now what was once a respectable skill will be like cooking and fletching. What will come next? alch-x? burn-x logs? Like a great player once said " the game is no longer a challange, i find it boring as gaining exp has become too easy, and i feel my achievements have become under valued."-zezima

Danqazmlp
I'm so confused why people are whining about this, shouldnt it in fact make it MORE respected? It will cost much more and take more time. It will just save your wrists. People saying it will become another cooking skill are massively wrong, if cooking cost you 2-3k per thing you cooked, i highly doubt you would see so many cooks, the way you train it barely effects it, the cost is the biggest factor. You totally made me realise my mistake. Must've took you a long time to write out something like that. Define real levels, please? As far as I know, levels are levels, and I have 1832 of them. And it seems maturity does not come with total levels. FYI, I used information someone posted in this thread regarding the experience per hour. And that was whitout familiars, whitout someone keeping my house open, and whitout mousekeys. I can imagine 350-400k xp per hour to be pretty doable using those 3. Aneron
When I got 99 prayer I got 250k/hour and I was being lazy (also, no mouse keys). There is no question you could get much better, as zarfot proved in his ridiculous prayer video. Prayer has been made slower and more expensive, but with less clicking. The amount of clicking required was never what made it impressive to me, so I don't feel the achievement has been worsened at all (in fact, it's become more difficult in my opinion - I'm glad I have it already). 99 prayer most definitely did not give carpal tunnel in any way, shape, or form though.
