Summer time

Featured Replies

For most of us (students) summer time is either here or it will soon be here. And summer time means no school, study or exams. Some of you might have a job/will get a job (if you do, then screw you). But some people won't be able to get a job for whatever reason. It's looking like I will be one of them people who can't get a job. Since I don't have a job and I don't have much money I guess that will mean my options for the summer will be limited. With no job, no money and living in the middle of nowhere, I predict I'll be doing a whole lot of nothing over the summer. I would rather if I had something to do, so I kind of need some suggestions on what to do.

Also what are you doing/planning to do for the summer? Are you working or going on holidays or planning on finding out how well your liver (kidney?) was made or something else? Since I'll be doing nothing much I might as well envy you for doing what I would (possibly) like to do.

Hang with friends by day, read books by night. B)

It's ok, I'm a Bills, Sabres, and Mets fan...I'm used to disappointment.

I'm going to a 3 week summer school aaaaallll the way in Denton, Texas. Then after a couple weeks of nothing I get to march in the hot sun for band camp until school starts.

I don't get out of school until Friday and I have to be in Denton by Sunday. ;_;

I wish I had free time during summer.

Getting a summer job during high school is pretty beneficial, but I don't blame anyone who doesn't want to get one. Those are the last years of your life you will have (stress free) time off like that.

Being a TIFer is hella tight.

OT: I'm outside hanging with friends a lot. Next week I'm going to Chicago, Illinois. :D

That's my summer. Steps 2-5 anyway. That and girlfriend, other job, CAR, friends. Should be fun.

DO YOU HEAR THE VOICES TOO?!?!

I'm doing a two-week course on graphic design for a semester's worth of credit... then it's just gonna be whatever I want.

If everything works out as planned, my summer is going to look like this:

- Work a month.

- Go on a roadtrip for a few weeks with some friends.

- Visit relatives up north.

- Finish a few programming assignments.

- Enjoy the weather.

- Become an alcoholic.

The last two points will probably be constant.

Teaching drumline, working on new material with my band, and partying. Everything else is pretty irrelevant.

Well, unfortunately it's winter here, and I only get three weeks off. Planning to do a bit of a roadtrip though, and hopefully go home for a bit and relax.

- Move out of flat

- Find a new place to stay

- Find a job (already got a couple possibly lined up)

- Go on holiday with friends (Canary Islands...hell yeah)

- Have a good time

When it is summer though [in about 5 or 6 months time] I plan to do nothing for a whole 4 months except wake up whenever the hell I want, play as much as I want, drink as much as I can. Spend some more time with friends, possibly even go on a trip into the country for a week or two.

Lots and lots of fishing. A couple of buds and I have been doing a lot of fishing lately, and even though in a month we've caught a single fish between the three of us (last Friday, actually) it's a lot of fun and it never gets old.

That, and I'ma try and find a job. Probably won't be able to, though. Maybe,

First I'm taking two summer classes for five weeks. Then hopefully going to England for a few weeks.. then I'll only have a month or so left of summer, which I'll spend reading, drawing, playing games, catching up with friends... the usual :P

My summer will consist of outside games - ultimate frisbee, bike polo and hockey. I'm also taking a seven week online class - intro to programming design. And last, but certainly not least, I'll be trying to accomplish some runescape goals and doing a lot of crew work.

Also looking for a new job... gl me

Shut the [bleep] up, it's like a three hour drive to Dallas from San Antonio. I'm going to Arizona for job training, leaving at four in the morning. And I've never driven a giant truck before, much less one with a trailer weighing thousands of pounds behind. And that's what I'll be doing, for at least a third of the 13 hour drive.

I'll be working. Concrete curbing. Family business we're starting. Me and my brother. Making the moneys. Will be nice. I'll be working like a [bleep] mornings and early afternoons, having fun like a [bleep] by night. Probably going to take some ridiculous trips to ridiculous places for ridiculous reasons. Going to find a barber, a tailor and maybe a good butcher.

Basically, I'll be kicking ass and taking names. But I already know everyone's name.

catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream

I was thinking of doing stuff like building a rocket or fighting a mummy or climbing up the Eiffel Tower, discovering something that doesn't exist, or giving a monkey a shower, surfing tidal waves, creating nanobots

Or locating Frankenstein's brain, finding a dodo bird, painting a continent, or driving my sister insane...

Stayin' cool during the summer.

I'll be making music and studying for my driving test. I'm probably going to miss out on going to study music again this year.

Work, party, fish.

Come to #tip-it on Swift IRC, if you're cool

If you have a public pool nearby, establish visiting it every other day with some friends as a tradition. It's mad fun.

I plan to work full time (already have for about a month), "court" a couple of lifeguards (I am slowly de-vulgarizing my language for tip.it), read a lot of scientific papers and books, work out tons and finally, blow all my cash on beer and girls that I "court"

If you can't get a job, keep trying. If you still can't, volunteering is better than doing nothing, and will add to your resume. I sure hope I can get a job though. My current job ends soon and I'm going to need a new one...
