Bonfires

Will cooking on player-made fires now be better exp overall, counting the time to get to them and possibility of them going out?

 

Well, this will always be happening near a bank. All we need is an official world and place for this so there are always fires lit.

Why east Fally? I always thought FoG was the perfect spot for FM.

 

You add a log every 6 ticks, but if you manually add a new log after each xp drop, you can add one every 5

 

Wouldn't doing that defeat the ENTIRE purpose of this update?

The only thing wrong with it is the lack of a percentage for when you need to stroke it.

Wouldn't doing that defeat the ENTIRE purpose of this update?

People are always going to look for ways to max out their xp/hr. I probably won't do it, but it doesn't make it wrong.

Not sure if anybody has asked yet, but do bonfires work in DG? :P

 

Haven't tried it but my guess would be no. Since dg the other skills aren't put there to be efficient training methods, they are put there for a purpose. Sure C2 fishing is amazing xp, but in jagex terms its not harming anyone cause fish are useful for the dungeon completion, but bonfires would waste logs that could be used for cooking, bows, arrows, staves or summoning (?)

I'd rather we get afk whining next so we don't have to trawl through pages of waaaa it got made easier waaaa I don't like it waaa this ruined the game for every single update just to read info people are posting.

 

I think if you got rid of the [bleep]ing, not genuine rants but [bleep]ing, most RuneScape forum threads would be a couple of posts long.

But its not a single point of failure.

It is a dual point.

They need both your RS log-in AND access to the email account.

 

And regardless of what spin you put on it your email being easily hackable is either a fault with the email providers security or your password and not Jagex's fault. It's not even like it's hard to get a good secure email provider with things like gmail around.

 

Having your email compromised is all you need to have your rs account compromised, given how terrible the recovery system is. Quite frankly, the people who are still using things like Yahoo/aol/Hotmail, which is still more than 3x the active users that gmail boasts, are probably better off never tying an email to their account because of how terrible they are. In the same way that typing your facebook account to your RuneScape account is an all-around dumb move, so is advocating such a move (like Jagex is doing) when the majority of emails out there are inherently insecure.

 

It's a bit like sticking your head in the sand and going la-la-la, no security holes ever on the internet nope!

I did not get a cape or game title.

You get the cape by recovering holiday items. Then right click on the cape while it's unequipped to activate the title.

You get the cape by recovering holiday items. Then right click on the cape while it's unequipped to activate the title.

unrelated for the most part but they keep adding titles and clan chat names and shit to our chat box area... we're running out of space for us to type, even if we can do mult lines now.... needs to be an option to hide titles/fc/cc names IMO

I'd love this. Also multiple lines need to not activate with still ~2 inches left on the line of text and not end after 1/3rd of the next line is used up. In many cases, it just extends a sentence perfectly capable of being on one line onto two lines.

It is no longer required to be perfectly in front of a dense forest in Isafdar to use the shortcut.

This annoyed me a lot, not sure why. Pretty cool.

Not that it's real useful or anything but the hp boost stays in Dg much like Ovl's and Renewals.

No snowflake in an avalanche ever felt responsible.

Just a heads up to anyone who stakes - the lifepoints boost seems to be carrying over into duels no matter what the rules.

They must've fixed this quickly then. I just tested it myself and it didn't work during the duel. In fact, dueling appears to remove it entirely, as my LP didn't begin to rise afterward either.

I'm not sure what the deal is, because the first time I was boosted (at Draynor bank) the entire effect was immediate, whereas when I created a bonfire at Duel Arena to doublecheck and gained the boost, my LP rose to the boosted amount at the normal healing rate (or would have, had I not realized this after a few seconds and eaten a lobster to duel againto double check).

1,3m fm exp so far gotten from bonfires with yews....got 160+ charms also so it makes ~1600 charms 1 to 99 fm

 

Seems not to be worth it for the slower xp rate to try and get more charms and thus sacrifice 40m ish wc exp =d

I now have THE REAL as my name title.

 

If I no longer require this, how do I remove it ?

 

Pay a visit to Xuan in Varrock or Burthope, he has a right-click "remove title" option.

also noticed you dont have to do 5+ ppl bonfires for max exp, just need to stand next to that kind bonfire but you can do your own fire alone so its kinda like giving effect to surrounding ppl.

i noticed that when i was wondering why i get max exp by doing one fire completely myself.

No they don't. Firemaking xp in dungeoneering is still awesome though, since you light fires much faster than in the overworld (every 1.2 sec) so it's very much worth it if you c2 wc+fish.

Decent update, except for the fact they didn't add bonfires.

Hurry, lets go whine and nag them on the forums in a mass appeal. No, really, I am being for real. Great update, nice to see them graphically include the log types for the fires, but we SHOULD have had increases in size for bonfires. My ideal thought on this update was to see up getting updated fires and at least 2-3 graphical changes to the bonfires appearances based on its size, but I would settle for an animation that signified a change from a fire to a bonfire and then another that switched at the 2 minute marker signifying that the fire was smoldering out.
