  1. that actually looks a hell of a lot like me. except my scarf is a red bananas in pyjamas one. and i couldn't get blue jeans..
  2. That's why you should be an Australian! 1. You don't have to worry about 4th of July. 2. It pretty much never rains. :)
  3. i'm 8-9 us, or 7-8 uk. 15 years old. small feet ftw?
  4. I've decided to broaden my tastes in music a bit, and I thought I might try out rap and/or hip-hop. Basically, I hate all of the mainstream rap and hip-hop artists, as everything that they put out is superficial. So, I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of some good rap or hip-hop artists. And just to specify a bit more if I hadn't already, I'm not really interested in the mainstream artists
  5. Ok, so I initially found about this band a few months ago, on this forum. They were mentioned in a thread about the weirdest music people had come across (I think Nadril mentioned them). I went to their myspace site to have a listen, and I have to say, I wasn't impressed. So I left it at that. Then about 30 minutes ago, I was going through last.fm searching for some new bands, and they came up again. I realised my musical tastes had developed dramatically since I first heard about them, so I thought I'd give them another chance. I downloaded some of their stuff (CDs are for the rich), and I was pretty much blown away. I don't really know why, I just think their music is brilliant. So now to the point, I was wondering if anyone had heard of them, and what they think of them. If you haven't, they have a few songs on their myspace site--perhaps try Alcoholocaust and Exospacial Psionic Aura?--then say what you think about them. :) Just a side note, if he reads this, I'd like to thank Nadril, or whoever it was, for first exposing me to this band, as well as Buckethead.
  6. with metal, skill and originality probably do it for me. also, you can't go wrong with a bit of discordance every now and then. ;) but then i also like acoustic, indie, and other genres of the like which, to be honest, don't actually take that much skill (prove me wrong). in that case, probably catchiness, ie, how good the melody is, do it for me.
  7. i listened to them for a few months and didn't mind them. then my computer died and all my songs were wiped, so i started afresh. i haven't bothered geting anything by them yet. i might later, probably not though.
  8. Behemoth, Nile, Poison the Well, Between the Buried and Me, HORSE the Band (Nintendo-core ftw?). Not in that order.
  9. I listen to metal, classical, indie-rock, and sometimes jazz. My mum listens to classical and Christian music, my dad listens to Christian music and some of the classics. My brother and younger-older (older than me, but younger than the other one) sister listen to indie-rock. And my other sister listens to... pop? Probably some indie-rock as well, I don't know. :)
  10. this is aimed at the people saying that God (assuming you mean the Christian God) doesn't have a face, or human figure. first off, this obviously is just a very talented child's depiction of God in human form, but the Bible says that we were created in the image of God, and as such, you'd expect him to have some human characteristics about him. but if the painter wanted to make it more accurate, she'd have to eliminate all shadows, and all light that isn't pure white, as the Bible also states that there is no darkness within God. (sorry for my lack of referencing.) but anyway, she's an amazingly talented artist. beats my stick-figures.
  11. i only found out about them maybe 2 or 3 weeks ago via some guys at school. i must say, they're pretty funny. i love albi and business time. "then i remove me jeans, but trip over them 'cause i still have my shoes on. but then i turn it into a sexy dance" classic. i might also recommend 'the humans are dead'.
  12. buy a cheap guitar and become awesome at it. or at least learn 5 chords. your choice. anyway, i generally just stay at home, play/listen to music, play the computer, watch tv. it's a wonder i'm not fat.. yet.
  13. I don't have a "did you know" thread. my apologies. however, you have posted on it, so you obviously know about it. and looking at your post on it, wow, you posted exactly the same thing as you did on here! isn't that great.
  14. i really don't see why you didn't post this in your own "did you know" thread. it seems kind of silly to waste more precious forum space on this.
  15. i like jolene and we are going to be friends. they're a pretty good band.
  16. i just put in some pantene pro v sheer volume then i let it roam wild. but anyway, grey pants and socks, white short-sleeved and collared shirt, maroon (sp?) jumper and tie. ie, school uniform, yey.
  17. gravenhurst. they've been around for a while, but no one really knows about them.
  18. some people might play games/use the net/etc. to release anger, or escape form life, or something like that, but for me, and i'm guessing the majority of people that do so, i just do it for fun.
  19. i seriously don't know. their older stuff just appeals to me more. it has a nice drugged out, confused feel to it. i'm sure their new music will grow on me.
  20. woo! someone else likes them! so far i only really like the music from their first album, breathing is irrelevant, but they're awesome.
  21. assuming you're talking about the original, anyone who didn't cry when he found out he was on earth is made of steel.
  22. to my knowledge anton lavey's satanism simply sums up human nature in its beliefs and nothing more really. and as such, to say that you act like a satanist (most people do), is simply to say that you do what you want to do. i seriously don't see the point in making an organization/religion out of it.
