200M in all Skills

Recommended Posts

No offense, Paperbag, but if we're going to track fastest time to max out an account, time between first 99 and last 99 is a terrible way to track it. One could get all his skills to 98, on the brink of 99, and level them all on the same day. With the way you counted it, it would be said that my example maxed out in a day.

That's true. But I'm being legitely honest that my stats were indeed pretty darn crappy before I started 99s. I'm talking level 50s and 60s.

And Viv, its been a mix of all 3. Randoms, friends, and solo. My preferred way would be solo. I can do it, it doesnt overload me like larges do with teams. But the only problem is figuring out the strategies at bosses so I can stop dieing so much lol. And also its so slow...

Hello Forum.tip.it,

I have played Runescape for quite some while. I quit, but I am forever fascinated by the race to max experience. The dedication to reach that point is immense, and I enjoy picking my favorites and see if they are catching up and what not. Well my favorite player was Zarfot, and now that he quit I guess I'm rooting for Tezz, Paperbag, and S U O M I. I really enjoy this thread as I feel it is filled with intellectuals like me, and generally prompts a smart discussion that interests me. Well there's some info I recorded 140 days ago on the XP of all players, as I wanted to see how fast they are all progressing etc. That was before I found this thread. So I will share this information with you. This could probably be found using Runetracker, but if you have it in front of you, why not just soak it in instead of researching it yourself.

2. Jdelacroix - 2.462b

3. Drumgun - 2.430b

Highest Gainers XP Wise:

1. Telmomarques - 634mil

2. Tezz - 603mil

3. Elvis - 531mil

4. S U O M I - 492mil

5. Elias - 475mil

6. Paperbag - 351mil

8. Jdelacroix - 287mil

9. Skiller - 263mil

10. Green098 - 248mil

12. Zarfot - 75mil

13. Lan - 1mil

14. Gertjaars - 0mil

15 Erw J - 0mil

Now it's true that XP gained isn't the best representation of how much and how well a certain player was doing. But in this case I think the numbers represent it quite well. Our bottom 5 there are very justified, all inactive besides Kingduffy who seems to be going at a slow relaxed pace. Moving up the list, we have seen for a while that Jdelacroix and Skiller aren't in a rush, as well as Green098 who is taking her time. Lastly even Paperbag posted he is going at his own pace, which mind you - 350mil+ in under half a year is very good. Drumgun I expected to be higher, but nobody really knows what he's doing his 18 hours a day. Making money is obviously the most logical explanation, but when will he spend it? Now the Top 5 are insane. We all knew these are the 5 fastest gainers without a doubt, but wow, Tezz impresses me more than anyone. 600mil experience while training mainly slayer is crazy. Elvis and Telmomarques are going at a similiar speed we have seen for a while, but Telmomarques yielded a decent lead in the bonus weekend it seems. Suomi has a good gain for training those ridicolously slow skills he's been training, and Elias; not too shabby, keeping with the pace of the fight for first.

Hope you enjoyed the read. I keep lurking so keep the 200mil all skills discussion going!

Just want to say that I read every post but just hard to find time to post and I am trying to avoid getting distracted.

It took me like 9 years to get maxed total so I certainly wasn't fastest. Dungeoneering was giving me really hard time too. Found it hard to concentrate because there were so many things you need to consider and I really hate taking risks, even small ones. Wasn't my skill at all, probably the hardest 200M skill for me so far even though it was really fast. I learned to really love the skill though after I got used to it, made so many good friends too and had so much fun. Really miss those times now but have to continue on my goal. Huge thanks to everyone who did floors with me even though I wasn't very good at it, wouldn't have made it without you.

Also been working on the post about my rs history but still not ready to post it, sorry to keep you waiting. And it's not anything special really so don't expect too much.

Still enjoy a lot reading this thread, keep the posts coming.

My goal is to get 200M in all skills.

English King did an experiment once of how far he could get an account within a week of creating it and, if I remember right, got to about 1150 total including 99 firemaking (pre-summoning). Not exactly what you are after but probably still the furthest anyone has got within a week of creating an account.

Timlahaye reached 99 everything 1 year 11 months (to the day) after creating his account. Jojoereturns took over 2 years.

ring world - assuming you're referring to the one within a week of creating your account, go for it. :P Although 1150 then is equivalent to 1250 now. Remember that you will have to do any needed quests within that week and all the money you use has to be made within the course of the week (donations = cheating). Plus it's a week of real time, not of playing time.

Well my brother said people could max within a year. I've no idea where he heard this so I can't back it up with anything but looking at how fast Paperbag and some others maxed it sounds pretty realistic.

About the ROW and effigy thing. I went FFA tds with a friend of mine. He got 2 effigies within 5 kills, and I got an effigy on my first kill. That's either very lucky (even for tds) or ROW does actually have an effect on it.

Once again, I can't back anything up in this post, so don't ask me for it. They're all just assumptions.

Elias mentioned that someone maxed out in 187 days of playtime.

How would you do that, dump a lot of effigies?

Wat? It's more than possible to get it at 150-200 days lol. I've been f2p for half my playtime and i maxed at like 305 days.

Jojoereturns maxed in 155 days and there was no effigies back then, so it would be a lot faster today

I also remember Calibanio who maxed in like 9 or 11 months of real time (i dont really remember, but it was less than a year)

Edit: hmmm not so sure about Calibanio lol but didn't he write something like that on his youtube channel when he decided to quit rs? I remember i had been impressed when i saw the time it took him to max....Maybe he had written something like "from the time i started to play seriously, it took 9 months to max"

Calibanio maxed on march 7th 2009. In October 2007 he had 43mil total xp.

And tbh playing time shouldnt really count as with investment merchanting you can make significant amounts of money with only a couple of minutes played per day, thus making this register as only a few minutes of playing time when actually in real time it takes months of playing to get the cash you need - just you hardly ever log in so it doesnt count towards your tally.

eh i kinda agree also depends when someone decided to "play seriously"

a new account with the goal to max and some pre expireience will have much lower playtime when they max than a pker that decided to max later even tho the real time may be simular from when a pker started training up...

Also i kinda respect how fast people train in "real time" compared to ingame time as well

noone really knows ur playtime unless u tell them but they can see fast exp gains over a month/few months/year

besides new updates are the same for everyones "real time" goals but doing something stupid earlier in your ingame time can ruin ur ingame days played exp/hr for a looong time

A serious player who knows what he's doing and who can nolife well could max out Overall in about 6 months. Less than 150 days of playtime is certainly doable, and 6 months = 180 days. 150/180 = 5/6(of a day) = 20 hours. But I said maxing out should take LESS than 150 days, so it'd require a time of LESS THAN 20 hours/day, not necessarily 20 hours/day. If you were to calculate at 16 hours/day, that'd be 120 days of playtime, which might? be possible. If maxing out from starting out took anywhere between 120 and 150 hours per day, and it was done in 6 months time, then the player would have to play between 16 and 20 hours per day, which is doable.

Since this is relevant to this thread.

C2 Fishing in dungeoneering is now in excess of 100k xp per hour. You could do this duo & turn shared xp off & pay gp to the keyer to obtain double this rate as well but in half the time spent (since you wouldn't c2 all of your floors).

Even if you didn't want to specifically DG, just c2 soloing your floors for fish xp over and over seems to be better and less tedious than barbarian fishing and at about 6-7minutes per floor, with 5 spots now being about average. Gives you at least 100k per hour.

It was plausible before at around 30k an hr, but this update makes it by far the best fish xp I guess.

I am putting this here for anyone who can help me correct somethings. Here is all of the data that I am using to calculate the optimal slayer task list. If you see anything that is incorrect please correct me on it. One thing that I know is wrong is kalphites. I understand that there is now a new spot for them after the do no evil quest. What kind of kalphites are those ones? what is their cmb lvl? what is their lp? what are their charm drop rates? what is the kills per hour?

So please go through and look at the info, tell me if something seems wrong, and give me the correct information.

I agree, I went from 99 fletch,99 rc in 6 years of on/off playing non seriously and then deciding to play seriously to 73m rc xp and +like 500 total level also 200m cash increased to the 2.5b i had before the hack in - 9 months and that was with a good 5-6 weeks of not playing due to depression..etc so if I were to take that out then it would be 7 and 1/2 months. + I still got crap xp/h the firt few months of rc =p

Deciding to "play seriously" does make a big impact lol

About the ROW and effigy thing. I went FFA tds with a friend of mine. He got 2 effigies within 5 kills, and I got an effigy on my first kill. That's either very lucky (even for tds) or ROW does actually have an effect on it.

Once again, I can't back anything up in this post, so don't ask me for it. They're all just assumptions.

“Does wearing a RoW increase the likelihood of finding Effigies as drops? The message from the RoW activates too frequently to actually tell what part of the drop it is effecting.”

Mod Piesche: No - the ring does not improve Effigy drop chances

That was a quote from the faq in recent updates forum, so luckily it doesn't help on effigys. But slayer will probably be a lot more profitable from now on.

With all the 100 snapdragon or torstol drops, i even heard of 15k-ish pure essence. These are ofcourse rare drops (i'd say as rare as a tooth half key, so that is not even very rare) and the whole row update gets a bit overhyped

because of people wanting to try it and then some people get lucky and get 15k pure essence or 1k fire orbs, they post it on the forums and many think that these drops are common, which they are not.

Btw here is a short list of items i have heard of which have been newly added to the rare drop table

Vecna skull - new item only obtainable through row (10m)

100 runite ore

600-800 addy ore

1k fire/air orbs

15k pure essence

6k coal

150-250ish noted toadflax

100 torstol and 100 snapdragons

500 Big bones (noted)

200 Battlestaff (noted)

200 Adamant bolts

Uncut dragonstone

1k raw swordfish

3778 yew logs

It seems to increase rewards of random event boxes

It also seems to affect the rewards gotten from clue scrolls AND the chance of receiving a clue scroll as a drop.

Oh and very important: these drops are most likely not row-ring only, just new added on the rare drop table, which you can get from almost any monster which has a rare drop table,

the row only increases the chance on getting an item of the rare drop table.

But ofcourse in the long run (200m slayer) it would mean a LOT more cash without any extra effort.

It has not been answered if the row gives any more charms, i have read some threads saying hellhounds golds were nerfed and they got a larger amount of blue and crimson (might be nice).

And lastly, for those of you wondering why at some monsters the ring always shines:

The message lets you know that the Ring of Wealth has improved your chances for the coming drop. This does mean that it will appear every time when killing monsters that have a chance to drop unique rare items on every kill (such as abyssal demons), but the message does not necessarily mean that the drop you receive is rare.

Also quoted from the faq in recent updates.

In other news,

Telmomarques has passed drumgun for rank 3 in xp.

Nice to see some StarCraft players around! :)... I am actually hah, I really just enjoyed PvP, I had a 99range, 96~mage, 90str, 40att pure. Not sure how much you know about me, but well I played and still play poker for a living, and inbetween tournaments I needed something to do. Obviously Warcraft3 is pretty demanding mentally and when I'm just tired it was fun to just PvP and relax. A few of my friends played so it was fun stuff!
