Pretty sure rs isn't playable on a phone? Or is there something I'm missing

 

You just need a smart phone with java enabled. Not sure it would work great. but fairly sure it could be done...

I ivy when i absolutely cannot pay attention, for example in class. Today is a Monday and a prime example of the benefits of ivy (on a phone), I had class from 1:35 pm to 9:00 pm, got a 6hr log in that time I cut so much ivy, better than the past 2 months when i didn't even log in on Mondays.

If you phone supports Java it is playable, also there are ways around it if it doesn't support java.

 

Countless phones dating back almost a decade "support" and even run on java, that doesn't mean they support runescape.

Also, did anyone dare to make an estimate on the amount of hours played on average weekly by our top contestors.

 

I used to be able to make that with my calculator but I can't make it until people find out the new effigy formula. Some cases, for people that isn't gaining effigys, you can calculate if you know the xp rates.

 

Suomi played 60 hours last 7 days.

Jake played 46 hours last 7 days.

 

What xp rate do you use for Suomi's attack xp? Does it include banking etc? Based on your 60 hours, he should be getting 280k Attack xp/hour? (Idk how much did it show when you did the track tho). But anyway, I'm thinking if there is any confirmed attack xp rate for Ape Atoll skeletons?

85 hours is still much, not that much he used to play tho :D Anyone remember the agility xp record he made? 35.5M xp in a month, somewhere around 515 hours played in a month (16.6 hours/day) at those days xp-rates ;d Assuming he would get the theoretical max of 69k/h, which he averaged all the time :) Just wanted to grace our great player a bit <3

A Log Burner was the 2nd maxed out level 3, he has 1723 total because his HP is 12.

 

I know, I was talking about 1721 total skillers. Loggy maxed a while ago, I don't think he still plays :/

I remember Beta Sun! Haha didn't know she still played. I also remember Redtunnel from when he got 200M WC, he's come a long way since then. A few names to note (that aren't on the list) are Yannick, a level 4 who was among the first level 3's to get 99 slayer. He's 120 dung, 200M cook, and like 160M WC and fletch., and Minz. I dunno if he still is a skiller, but he was exactly 1 exp away from 99 in all except dung, slayer, and mining. He may be f2p now.

Yup, saw your video, I do the same from time to time on my android tablet. I was commenting on essiw's comment mostly, because every phone that supports java definitely can't support Runescape or a vnc client. My ancient RAZR v3i supported java as does my old BlackBerry, could never dream of anything as complex as Runescape on them.

I never understood what the big deal is with lvl 3 skillers. A 99 or 200m is an achievment no matter what, however I don't see how no combat makes 200m cooking or woodcutting or firemaking etc any more difficult. It may look cool but thats about it. I understand some may simply not enjoy combat, but I am under the impression that a good portion of lvl 3 skillers don't choose that path for that reason.

 

99/120/200m dg could be a little more impressive assuming the lvl 3 is not leeching.

 

Before I get flamed, understand I am not intentionally downplaying anyones achievemtns or stats. A 99 or 200m is still impressive either way.

It's probably a way to add an extra challenge for them. Just like some prefer to be pure F2P, DIY'ers, maxed pures, or Villandra's crazy accounts.

They simply add a complexity to the game instead of following the same path as many players tend to do; maxed account.

For me, it was definitely the "challenge," but also the community. As a skiller you're part of a select group of players which gives you a strong sense of identity, you have your own hiscores (maintained by members of the skilling community), overall it's pretty tight-knit and competitive. On the challenge aspect, I've always viewed skilling (or any form of a pure) just like bodybuilding, you're constantly trying to craft your character's stats to look better and better - think of Arnold Schwarzenegger, he was constantly improving the sculpting of his body to appear better for competitions, skilling is just like that. It's just very unlike playing as a "normal" player, I really liked it for the many years I participated.

 

For every update that occurs the skilling community is talking amongst each other, or trying to be secretive, trying to find out how to best exploit the update to their advantage. You're constantly paranoid about everything, you need to know about everything and everyone or you get left behind. Every week you get to read about the skiller that messed up, accidentally got combat, was caught botting, or just decided being a skiller wasn't for them anymore; it's like reading celebrity magazines. The player base is constantly changing, but there's always those same players present that you can count on to be there day to day, so you take comfort in that; that is, depending on your ranking - as you get higher and higher, no matter your relationship to those above you, you eventually feel the sting of envy and want for them to mess up, too.

 

And, even though skilling has been around for a long time, there's still so many unexplored areas. Very few have actually maxed, none have yet maxed in F2P, you can choose to focus on certain skills or get get in certain minigames, or just become rich and constantly have people speculating about you. It's addicting, it's a lifestyle, and it's definitely not for everyone.
