I seem to be the only one who struggled at getting the hunter rocks. :P

 

No, that one was horrific for me as well. Falconry is not the quick, easy fix it was made out to be.

 

Yeah. You both probably had it worse than me, but it took me 1.5 hours to get the first two hunter rocks from falconry.

well it took me 3 minutes with falconry, but yeah some of my friends were there for hours upon hours. Guess i was just lucky.

Took me an hour there for each pair.

 

I now have the second set ready to make my next statue in 5 days. :D

hunter is just horrendous for me

3 hours for my first two rocks

4 hours + 300k hunter xp for my third one

I haven't even dared start on my fourth

You mastered the skill, but apparently you didnt... <_<

 

Fail logic. This isn't a "well done you've mastered the skill have two rocks" D&D. Why would it be? It's supposed to be a nice little bonus for people who skill and encourages people to vary their training patterns. The D&D's are not meant to be "go out and do it all at once", that's why some of them have time limits. However with Penguins player ingenuity has got the better of Jagex once again and created a lovely community and support network from it. Plus it's just easier to hunt them all at once.

 

The problem I see with Shattered Heart is in some cases (RC, Agility), the actions which cause you to gain a stone do not occur often enough. For example jumping over the low wall at the agility Pyramid happens 4 times a circuit? Or something like that. In any case there are your 4 chances to get a rock (it could be more but you generally fail if you try to go backwards on any of the obstacles,). If you happen to training agility normally then it's extremely unlikely you will get a stone unless you stay there for hours.

 

On a normal runecrafting run I "bind essence" twice. Once with my invent ess and the other from pouches. Two clicks that have a chance to give me a stone.. Repeat ad nauseum...

Made 3k bloods, still not one rock.

 

 

Hunter took me 120 dashing kebbits, no rocks. then in 60 grey chins i got both.

I have all the 99s, and have been playing since 2001. Comped 4/30/15

monks are definately the way to go with fishing, got both stones after 12 monks, mining was very quick doing gold, fletching and fming just took a few invens of willow logs, allotments help a ton to get the farming stones, wcing was not too bad on ivy

 

still have my 2nd cooking stone left to get (its taking me a while...), hunter, crafting, rcing, and herblore...any advice?

Can't understand the point to it.

I mean you don't play it, it just happens.

So like get some free xp and kudos for low levels who can be bothered to save space in inventory and walk to museum? :roll:

Seems like a non-combat version of champions challenge that is all hunting and no fun/reward.

I'd greatly enjoy this... If it didn't have the whole week limit thing. 7 Months for a statue with vague rewards other then some experience gotten while building it? My study will never be complete, but I don't really care at this point.

Someone pointed out earlier that the replica stone looks exactly like the agility strange stone. What if every time you add a replica stone to your statue, that skill no longer has to be completed to remake the statue? So every two weeks, one of the skills falls off the list and it gets easier to complete every time?

 

Any thoughts?

i think agility rocks are first ones to get since they clearly are the base part of the statue since every piece is different shape

How about XP increase per pair?

Imagine +50% more xp each pair you add to your POH statue.

 

That'd be cool.

 

Or +10-20%, after researching.

I don't think he's that sadistic.

 

So far, all diary requirements were a quick "do X". With one day wait MAX for some of the skills because it required waiting. Even quests can be completed instantly if you set your mind to it.

Waiting 30 weeks isn't skill though.

 

183/183 kudos might be.

Mining gave me the rock at a first swing of the pickaxe on coal stone, wc gave me after 3rd yew log, 3 inventories of maple logs burnt, both rocks.

I wouldn't be surprised if 183 Kudos are required for Elite Varrock Diary. The Hard one already requires 153.

I heard that the RC stone is best gained by just RCing normally instead of the currently-popular "one-by-one" method, could anyone get info from a Jmod on whether or not this is correct?

 

Well, if you consider that you have a chance to get a Strange rock once per "click" of whatever skill you're getting (one swing of your pickaxe, one log burnt, etc.) it does make sense that the 1-by-1 Runecrafting method is best.

 

Crafting an entire inventory of ess/pess at once is only "one click" for the skill, while if you drop the entire inventory and craft them one at a time, that's 28 individual chances to get it.

Well you'd think that, but at zmi altar you get the rock in between (!) different stacks of runes, so for example: nat, body, rock, blood, air, etc. This implies the rocks chance is based on the amount of essence instead of the amount of crafts. I failed to take a pic of the 2 rocks ive gotten through zmi, but it was like this both times. I'm not saying this is *true* I'm just saying it's to be considered :P

 

Also: theres a bug with smelting gold ore, you can't get the rock with a full inventory atm.
