Rank 205 despite not playing Castle Wars for nearly 4 years. Haha.

 

And I took it on the rear.

Can't Jagex learn to add.

I have 4.6k tickets yet it says I only played 1057 games.. :wall:

They must not have counted the two golds in my poh.

I can prove 2.3k games and I have lost more than won so I should have that pro cape.

Dam you Jagex! Awesome update, but dam you for robbing me, suck on my bug report!

When's Castle Wars Upgrade batch 2?

 

You still can't wear helmets or capes. - This is the absolute biggest problem I have had...

You still get 2 tickets for winning, 1 ticket for a tie, and NO tickets for a loss.

You can still hold your teams' flag.

 

- Capes I can understand, but helmet spot should be opened up.

- This is annoying as .... yeah ... I lost 3 games and it ended in pretty much about 1 hour and 10 mins of wasted time with nothing in return.

- This is what is annoying me the most. Flag camping on themed worlds its impossible to get the flag away from the 30 people protecting their "flag holder".

You'd need armadyl top/legs, melee prayer and luck even as a maxed player to not get downed from max hp to 0 in less then 10 seconds.

 

Flag camping is a part of the game I guess they said somewhere though. -.-

You'd think that it would be in the power of the gods to forbid such magic for its ties to zaros. the best update to castlewars would be capped worlds imo. Have a cw world with 20 players on each team capped, one with 10, one with 50, a few without limits.

It would be hard, as castlewars isn't instanced, but it would be interesting in my opinion. I don't like that nowadays you'll either barely have enough people to start a game, or you'll have to go into the worlds with hundreds of people playing. With smaller teams, then even flagholding is a challenge (as you can't have these massive teams protecting you, it's more about your own skills) and each persons skill matters more than in the enormous games.

Because it seems whenever they try and do this, people complain about it. Castle Wars is too old to make any drastic changes to without serious backlash.

A year ago before I went f2p I had full white armor with 100 tickets left over. I've been a member for months now but haven't played a game since, it says I have zero games of castle wars completed :wall: Does it erase when you drop your tickets or lose members?

New armour looks like it came from a muddy brawl. Do you like the muddy brawl look? Yes? Good. Take the new armour. Go have fun. Do you hate the muddy brawl look? Yes? Great! Ask Lanthus for a free cleaning. Go show off your awesome gold/black - silver/blue - red/blue armour that's so unique everyone knows what it is. Feel free to go get it dirty if you change your mind. Go fight something. I'm sure you'll get it dirty again.

 

Then guess what? People who like the new stuff: happy.

Oh, and my friend says that he lost a full set of that white decorative with the update, without getting the new set. As bad as that is, I'm sure that someone who lost full gold would /wrists if this happened to them...

 

At least all of the updated and added items look great, but that's about all I can say...

This was the second batch of updates for castle wars...if you remember :)

 

But in all seriousness, the game is 6 years old now and wildly successful(i can conclude that even though i hate it and think it is very dull and pointless), why should they change the rules? I mean there were people moaning about helm spots ever since barrows, which was before the first batch of updates.

Goes well with Slayer Cape.

Its very useful in CW if you overload, turmoil/soulsplit to take full advantage of the big damage boost (25%).

I crank 600 with a whip and 480 with broad bolts.

Dragon Dagger spec's individual hits max around 530 which means 1 hit kos.

Haven't tried mage.

You wont get within -13 magic attack which means splash city on everything not noobkind.

Pretty nice. Surprised you don't hit more though. On slayer tasks, with only a 15% boost, I hit 600s, though that is with bandos chestplate and rune defender as strength boosters (whch you are missing). I'm pretty sure that you could hit 700+ with a zerker (i) on the flag holder.

Those new outfits look pretty good imo, the highest sword looks epic.

(like said, they could have made it an option to switch for those who preferred the older outfits)

 

Makes me think how nice it would be if dungeoneering rewards were exchangeable afterwards just like castle wars rewards. :razz:

Wow, the first ever update I can safely say I hate. The new armours look horrid. The old armour looked unique and would stand out in a crowd, the new armour look like rehashes from Dunegeoneering. They did nothing to improve the game itself just removed what made the minigame unique. Why could they not have kept the colour schemes for the armours? Why could they not have taken a single thing from the hundreds of suggestions on the main cw suggestions tread on the RSOF which has had hundreds if not thousands of supporters over the years? My word what a bosh job this update has been. I have not seen a single positive comment from anybody who previously played the game for any length of time or was involved in one of the numerous clans.

 

On a less annoyed note, what will have happened to my Gold set in my POH? I don't have members so cannot check it out?

 

Knowing the majority of the top ranked players for Cw feels strange.

Uh, the old armour was ridiculous and garish. Time to stop looking at things through your nostalgia-tinted glasses. Seriously, plain flat red armour? Plain flat white armour? That looked good to you? The armour being high-quality and actually looking like real armour doesn't make it a copy of Dungeoneering. Please tell me you are joking. Your logic is as sound as the ranters who complained about the Zanaris graphical upgrade.

 

I highly doubt that something so trivial as a graphical UPGRADE of armours and actual in-minigame USES for the armour is the first update you truly "hate."

Your Gold CW armor will automatically change over to the equivalent type of the new armor. That's what my white set did in my POH.

 

OT: I'm glad they finally updated the rewards for Castle Wars. I was a very avid CW player before I took my 2 year break last year, with just under 1,300 tickets. It's nice to see more useful stuff to buy with the tickets and to finally have something to show off how addicted to something you are. :P Sadly I need to play another 4,037ish games to get my 5k cape. :(

 

EDIT: Also seems like someone messed up. All the shields are listed to be bought for 4, 40 and 400 tickets. When they actually cost 6, 60 and 600. I don't know which one is supposed to be right but I hope it's what the "shop" shows them costing (the 4, 40 and 400).
