you can still get regular trade good missions, you just won't be able to access the huge pile rewards

I'll be honest and say I only thought there was one trio mission for each storyline, so 2 in total. So dissapointed when I found out I'm still missing 6 and haven't seen one yet. No luck today either. :uhh:

Not only that, the last 2 giving rewards are overall the hardest missions there are, and it'd be stupid not to use merchants on them.The storyline part of pops is one thing quite well thought out.

 

ive completed it without merch.

how many extra you get with merch ?

You lose out on 15 bones, lacquer, chi and plates. More if you consider using FotS too. That's many, many days worth of trade goods.

First to 99 Farming on 27. September, 2005.

First to 3766 Port Score on 20. March, 2014.

First to 4664 Port Score on 2. March, 2015.

50 -> Standard

Add to that 30% from merchant!

Add to that 10% from FotS!

 

50 x 1.3 x 1.1 = 71.5

Rounded down is 71!

71-50 = 21 Trade goods...

 

And do not forget, from the trio's you get 2 types of trade good... So you'll lose out on 42 trade goods from that single voyage!

    That is only for 1 specific Trade Good, as there are 2 trade goods both granting 50 goods, you'll miss out on 42 trade goods.

    Unlocked pincers today and sent shambling lair out at 63%.

     

    Besides the oxheads, pincers stuff doesn't seem like much of an upgrade over bowl stuff.

     

    What are the priorities for upgrades? combat hull>rudder>crew>other stuff?

    Ensure you are not a social situation.

    Imo rudder first, it allows you to do atleast 2 voyages per ship per day =3

    I ask again, if I use my captain with "Opportunist", is there a chance of getting trade goods even with failure?

    There is always a chance, but any crewmember with opportunist trait gives you a better chance.

    Thanks, I'll certainly send that one next opportunity for the mission I get (she just didn't work with what I had last time). Looking over this thread a bit though, I might be lucky to see the voyage again this week, or month even.. :wall:

    I failed my 4th trio voyage (which is also my second fail on the second MCB trio), and it was well over 70% without any random boosts (i won't be using it until I get the trade good trio).

     

    Although on the bright side, I just made death lotus legs, which means all 3 legs are finished

     

    (now only need 38 more chi, 27 more plates and 64 lacquer till I finish all 3 armors, and the above value assumes I finish other trio... they hate me :( lol)

     

     

    Edit: Can't quite decide whether I want a 4th oxhead or 4th merchant, I still have a Sea Witch that refuses to get replaced as I cannot find the 4th oxhead, I have both a JoD and Merchant ready.

    Well the chance of your set of trio appearing is only 1 in 5 (assuming all adventurers have even odds), and thats not even taking into account of single adventurer days.

    Yet another bad day. No final Storyline mission, no Chi, and didn't even get the Random to start off the day. I will probably get it later tonight.
