I don't think it will be zarfot. Even though most are rooting for him, you have to take in account most of his 200m skills are in buyables and quick skills, while others like suomi and drumgun have their 200m skills in slow and tedious skills. Zarfot doesn't play as much as them, and will probably fall behind by the end of this year I think.

Not that i want one or another to be first, but the natural course of skill its that they become easier and faster, so i do think doing the slow ones now may be kinda of a waste of time.

Because imagine that some new method of fishing apears that is 50% faster than the current one, Zarfot could then more easily and with less time achieve 200m on fish.

I respect both of them, but i think the smart move is doing the fastest ones already first.

To be honest, I don't think it matters what category of skills you decide to train first. You train a slow one, it takes you longer to get 200M exp. You train a fast one, it takes you shorter to get 200M exp. Train one skill to 200M exp, then the other to 200M exp, either one you choose first, you will get to 200M exp in both skills in the same time frame. We don't know fishing will get a 50% increase in speed or not. Fletching is getting a make x -> make all option which will in my opinion make the process of fletching, one of the easier skills, much easier and faster to train.

I think whoever gets to 200M exp in all skills will be the most efficient (not play all day), training skills in a sequence that will benefit other skills later on and achieve maximum experience growth in a shorter amount of time, a large amount of GP to train the most expensive methods because in most cases they are the fastest methods (this would require to merchant) etc.

Lol do you think that people still train fletching with bows anymore? Whenever zarfot trains a skill, he does things like alch or fletch between clicks, so he really trains 2 skills at once. But I seriously doubt he is gonna keep that first position when he moves into mining or agility, which are much slower even if you count the alching randomly. Zarfot also has obligations outside of rs, he is going to united I think so that takes up a lot of time.

Yes, but remember, zarfot has effigies to use on slower skills, including mining, rc, etc.

Mining really won't be a problem considering he superheats in LRC and drops bars.

PRESENT:

Player 1 does 200m xp in SKILL 1 in A amount of time

Player 2 does 200m xp in SKILL 2 in B amount of time

With A < B (SKILL 1 faster than SKILL 2)

FUTURE: apears an update that make both of those skills X% faster with X > 0

Player 1 does now 200m xp in SKILL 2 wich will take B/(1+X/100)

Player 2 does now 200m xp in SKILL 1 wich will take A/(1+X/100)

Now wich one is faster? doing the fastest one now or the slow one now? i'll use C = 1 + X/100

Since A < B , exists an U > 0 that A + U = B

A + B/C = A + U/C + A/C (Player 1 total time)

B + A/C = A + U + A/C (Player 2 total time)

since A = A, A/C = A/C and U/C < U , because C > 1 we get

Player 1 total time < Player 2 total time

and therefore the order that you choose to do skills based on the fact that there will be even if the slightest improvement on speed of skills matters

and also it shows that doing the faster one now, saves time later

lol @ mr joined 26 minits ago XD...

i only joined to say that fool

Now who's the fool here mr 2 posts :S?

Ontopic:

What skill is the best to train first is a bit unknown.

There happen changes all the time, so skills that where like ungetteble 5 years ago are quite easy nowadays.

Getting items without GE took ages of typing, forumming and stuff, nowadays you just ask 5K gems and you have them in a couple of hours while training all kind of other skills.

Training crafting with gemcutting was close near impossible before GE, nowadays it's like pretty much normal.

Without GE Zarfot and Jdela would probably have remained pretty much unknown, or in every case have loads loads loads less xp.

If you knew everything beforehand peoples would probably have trained hard skills like rc, wc, 100M fm, agility, fishing, hunter (before loads bots), thieving and a bit of smiting before GE (and buy a pile of rares) and as soon as GE and the money was there all the fast skills of now and slayer (not slayer before otherwise no summoning xp *and effigys).

I guess something like that, and neither would they have maxed everything to 200M, they get like 5M free xp because of Dungeon anyway *and effi.

It does surprise me btw that the top players don't train skills like hunter a lot whenever there comes some time there are no bots.

The hunter bots lower the xp/h quite a lot don't they? So whenever they are gone the xp/h is a lot higher, so whenever there are no or barely any bots just take your chance shouldn't you?

But ok who am I ;) and no I'm not a member so I'm not a 100% sure about this.

The only thing to do now is look for players reaching 200M in a skill. I used to think that nobody would achieve all 99s for a long time. Today, that's nothing more than a flash-in-the-pan, and nothing special.

^This <_< was purely focused on all melee skills on first page perm, which are fully taken up by now so no one else is able to get on there. And yeah, would be pretty boring if everyone took the same road towards succes too :P

Yes, but remember, zarfot has effigies to use on slower skills, including mining, rc, etc.

That might be true, but effigies will only cover about 10-20m exp per skill? So even then he will still have a long while to go. (excluding the dragonkin lamp skill)

It does surprise me btw that the top players don't train skills like hunter a lot whenever there comes some time there are no bots.

These are my predictions for the some of the top players.

I speculate that Skiller could reach all 200m skills, but I don't see him being the first to do so, as he does not play as much as Drumgun or S U O M I.

I believe that Zarfot, will be another Zezima/Gertjaars, and end up retiring and/or quitting. I have a feeling that his main downfall will be his popularity with the masses of Runescape.

Jdelacroix, I don't see as maxing out 200m in all skills, just because he doesn't put off that vibe, that all 200m skills is his goal.

Drumgun could have a chance to be first to all 200m but, he would have to keep on grinding for the next 5 years, and somehow pass S U O M I, in the process of the slower skills.

Gertjaars is retired, he could resume playing, but I highly doubt it.

Lan, I feel has a greater chance than Jdelacroix to get all 200m, but again I don't see him wanting that goal.

Telmomarques, I think for a while Telmo maybe the #1 player in both XP/Total Level, but I see him quitting such as Zezima/Gertjaars.

Green098, I really do think she has a chance to max out all 200m skills, but most definitely not the first to do so.

S U O M I, IMO has the best chance. 200m Mining, Agility, Fishing, are generally only trainable at slow rates compared to most skills, and have a lack of XP in other skills, except for the Mining/Superheat can be combined. However she hasn't started Farming, which can be a huge problem later.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is how i feel that for maximum effiency, skills should be trained.

1.) 200m Hunter + 200m Dungeoneering (After Warped) + 200m Thieving

(While Merching for Buyables) (3/25 Skills)

These three skills offer above 200k+ XP/HR after lvl 99/120 (Most likely safe from any dramatic XP/HR increases)

They don't cost either allowing you to not spend much money while merching

1.5) Begin Farming

2.) Next Buyables should be done in no particular order

200m Cooking

200m Fletching

200m Prayer

200m Herblore (Try to do potions that would help speed up Slayer) (Suggested to do on a 2x weekend)

200m Construction

200m Crafting

200m Firemaking

(10/25 Skills)

3.) Slayer + Melee + Ranged + Summ

Train Slayer while cannoning and pick up charms.

(Effigies for RC, should gain around 50-100m RC)

3.5) Burst for Charms, if you don't get enough for 200m Summ

(17/25 Skills)

4.) Mining + Magic + Smithing

Mine Gold ore at LRC and superheat the ore, then drop.

(20/25)

5.) Train to 200m Woodcutting

(21/25)

6.) Train to 200m Agility/Fishing

(23/25)

7.) Finish RC/Farming.

25/25

Steps 5,6,7 are best to do at the end, because those skills are most likey to get a dramatic increase in XP/HR.

A couple of things about your order assasin:

1. If you start farming at 1.5 then you should be done before 7.

2. Many of the buyables in step 2 could get experience from the effigies received in step 3. I don't know how much xp would be received but people seem to be putting it at 10-30m, so we'll say 20m. perhaps they should get 170m xp then stop? This would be faster in the pursuit of 200m in all skills but they'd be sacrificing some rankings.

The rest I tend to agree with, though slayer could be pushed up to a sort of 2.5 giving more time to flip for cash to pay for other buyables. Also prayer and herblore the two skills which are likely to become more expensive with time, so unless they want to wait for another (unconfirmed?) bonus xp weekend, they should probably prioritise these over the seemingly cheap forever cooking/firemaking.

Hunt/herb, con/thief and fm/cook effigy stages would all be wasted like that, so maybe you could leave either hunter and/or some of the buyables till later but yeah, the general idea seems ok. If you need to raise funds, that can be done whilst slaying anyway as it should break even in theory. Woodcutting/fishing can just be trained in bits when you find the need to multitask.

The practical reason to do fast skills first seems to be the fact you won't have to play around with money once they're out of the way, unless you're happy just banking every skill and not actually doing them. Merchanting also gets worse over time (it looks pretty bad currently!) and skills tend to get more expensive.

Personally, I'm not in any rush with dungeoneering at all because I haven't really started thinking of it as a skill yet, just going to wait until the traditional skills don't interest me that much to get into the mood with dungeoneering at some point.

l

A rough estimate has each effigy saving 1.5 hours of skilling time, and requiring 1.5 hours of TDs to obtain. Since the skills that effigies are optimally used on give little or no profit, there is no loss of potential profit in using effigies and so the profit from TDs is obtained in zero time. From this, assuming that RC is not sped up in the future, the most time-efficient way is to keep killing TDs after 200M slayer for 200M RC. In the process one would obtain more than enough charms for 200M summoning, and about 10B profit, drastically reducing the need to merchant. This also means that buyables should not be done before slayer (in any case, slayer gives free prayer and herb xp via bonecrusher and herbicide respectively).

Also, doing hunter and thieving so early would be wasting effigy xp.

Hence, this would be a better order:

1.) 200m Dungeoneering (After Warped)

(While Merching for Buyables)

2.) Begin Farming

3.) Slayer + Melee + Ranged + Summ

Train Slayer while cannoning and pick up charms.

(Effigies for RC, should gain around 50-100m RC)

4.) RC via TDs

5.) Everything else. Order does not matter except that mining/magic/smithing should be done concurrently and that agility should be done after hunter and fishing.

Just a note to say that Telmomarques will be passing Kingduffy today for rank 9 but he will soon run out of construction XP seeing as he's gonna max out the skill in 20M xp.

Suomi is slaying, much to the surprise of about everyone here claiming he would finish smith or go train dungeon. Time will tell if he keeps on slaying or if it was just a fluke.

I don't think it's so big surprise, of course I thought too that he would just continue with Smith/Mage but he's human after all, maybe he just wanted 200m Mining ands then do couple days something else (Slayer and Herblore), and then start finishing Magic and Smithing.

It's because hunter is considered the most tedious skill besides rc. Butterflies are annoying to catch all the time and chins require 100% attention. I don't blame him as slayer is my favorite skill, it is also a good choice to rake in some effigies before closing off the mining/smithing combo.

Hunter is one of the easiest skill to train imo, it's quite AFK and requires not much attention, just a few clicks after a while. And I'm surprised, that lots of high experience players don't train it, as it as well gives agility experience which is a slow skill. Hunter is quite fast with warlocks as well, 100-130K/h + 20.8-27K/h agility.

You do understand, L6vi and M Oldfield are both RSC products and RSC is pretty much 5x times slower exp-wise and gameplay-wise than RS2 is. No gilded altars, no make-X, no notes, pretty much no everything.

Yeah I know your not blaming him ;) I just meant that its good to do something else too to avoid the risk of losing interest on that massive goal.

By the way, is construction the fastest skill now in Rs as Runetrack shows that Telmo got 9m xp one day and what I remember in bonus xp weekend, Elvis and the other guys got 'only' 5-9m xp in Herb per day. Anyone has idea how he trains Const?

Hunter is terrbily overestimated because of decent exp/h, but I believe that it will be a big problem for most of them to train to 200m.

Silly, you're forgetting about Skiller 703

I believe that Zarfot, will be another Zezima/Gertjaars, and end up retiring and/or quitting. I have a feeling that his main downfall will be his popularity with the masses of Runescape.

LOL

HUNTER IS AWEFUL its good exp/hr but its boring...and not afkable....

everyone will quit at somepoint or at least slowdown ...thiers a certain pace you need to play for 99 all skills and for 200m its like waaaaaaaaaaaaay more...and most top players do skills for thier enjoyment w/e they want maybe they make decisions as if they were getting 200m all but dont hardcore grind for it.

@ Westocean

I don't blame him as slayer is my favorite skill, it is also a good choice to rake in some effigies before closing off the mining/smithing combo.

He claims its 700k-800k xp per hour, at that speed its not hard to believe.

I think slayer should be pushed to 2, I totally forgot about the non-dragonkin lamp effigy XP. Probably best to do step 1 first though, just to get the money for cannoning. I was thinking overnight that most likely Dungeoneering/Hunter/Thieving, can all be done within 6 months, and in 6 months you probably wouldn't be able to push out the cash for all buyables.

Farming I started at 1.5, but had no clue when you should finish it, so I just put it at the end.

I do think that there will be many Bonus XP weekends in the future, I was actually suprised how fast the 2nd one came about.

Hmmm Suomi actually surprises me a bit, I expected him to superheat some bars (not gold, but runite or adamant) till 200M smiting xp and gain some cash with it and after that enchant a pile of amulets (str, power, glory, onyx) to 200M magic and another pile of cash.

But he doesn't :P, I wonder how long time Slayer will take him +- ;) and I hope he is able to afford it to use a cannon.

10 years (give and take) and you will find your player!

Very insightful post

/end sarcasm

The hunter bots lower the xp/h quite a lot don't they? So whenever they are gone the xp/h is a lot higher, so whenever there are no or barely any bots just take your chance shouldn't you?

But ok who am I ;) and no I'm not a member so I'm not a 100% sure about this.

Bots don't camp butterflies.

Effigies cover around 30m xp/skill and Lamps 90m so if you used lamps on a skill you open effigies with you end up with 120m xp in that skill from effigies from 200m slay.
