I'll bless all graves still. Well, unless they die with a partyhat set or something. :P

I'm thinking that if it's just me and the other person, I'll bless straight away. But if we're in a group or something, I'll wait for it to drop to like 30 seconds left on the gravestone, then bless it to piss people off.

 

Unless of course, the person was a douche. In which case, free stuff for me!

Personally, I get this feeling I'd bless graves on case-to-case bases. Like, if you've just been an idiot and died when you lost focus while swearing at me, your grave will probably fall apart pretty soon.

Not that I want to be mean, but yeah.

 

Agreed with this 100%. If you're polite and friendly, I'll bless your grave. If you're a tool -- not so much ...

 

 

I've had a case where I let a person downed for around 180m (who the hell brings that much to arma solo anyways) lose their stuff and not bless for the simple fact that he got mad when I crashed him... I mean pay attention at least if you're going to be angry at me lulz.

You can't bless someone's grave if they're not logged in.

Jagex should do it like those minimum bid websites where they advertise getting iPhones for £3 etc.

This is how my gravestone idea would work.

 

Blessing gravestones so they last whatever formula its worked out at (always seems to be 59 mins whenever I bless)

Repair. Now this is how it will be different. Instead of the way it works now you can ONLY get loot once it has been repaired at least once. When you repair it costs 5 prayer points and adds +1 minute to the gravestone, when it starts collapsing again it can be repaired once more for another +1 minute. This can be done a maximum of 6 times (2x length of whatever gravestone it is).

 

If noone attempts to repair the gravestone it will collapse and noone will get the loot at all.

To be completely honest, if you're a friend of mine or in the same clan as me you'll get a blessing from myself.

 

If you're a stranger no matter what the circumstances you'll not get blessed.

 

I looted plenty of graves in the day at Barrows, DKs and even KBD but never tried giving anyone their items back, if they returned and asked nicely I'd ignore them, if they got mad at me for taking their items I usually just said "Too bad" or ignored them as well. Not to be mean or anything I just don't play RS to make friends or be nice to everyone, as far as I am concerned it's a game and I don't let it go any further than that.

I've never heard of any controversy over bless accounts.

 

Personally, I don't see the point in one. The most likely cause of death is connection loss which would prevent any of your accounts from logging in. Plus, it takes a fair bit of capital to set one up (train an account to 70 stats, set up outside boss with the proper killcount/gear, and pay $60+/yr to keep it there...).

I would bless anybody who's nice to me, and everybody from my clan. I also would bless anyone from my boss teams.

The only people i wouldn't bless are crashers, noobs and flamers.

It seems that you can't bless a grave when the grave owner has logged out, or disconnected. I guess I could get my friends to bring a bless account for me so I could get them to bless >.<

If you disconnect, your grave needs to be blessed really quickly before it disappears.

Once blessed, your items will stay there for the 60 minutes regardless of whether you log in or not.

Or....you could just not die.....

With an internet connection and computer like mine, dying is sometimes hard to avoid.

What i would do would depend on the situation.

I saw someone die at barrows today, they had a crappy grave and me and this other guy were discussing how we could have recieved some free loot in a weeks time.

We did repair his grave and lend him the spade he forgot to bring, but in a weeks time I dont think we would have. :mellow:

I don't see why so many people want Jagex to give an incentive for blessing/repairing graves. They want RS to be dangerous, graves were only added in the first place as your friends would have been able to return your stuff if you died pre-Dec 08.

 

Jagex have always maintained the policy that you shouldn't take any items you're not prepared to lose to dangerous areas, they give you so many warnings nowadays, yet you still choose to ignore them as you want to be able to kill bosses more effectively. You might not be able to help dying, whether as a result of disconnection or something else, but you chose to take that risk, and there is no one to blame for the loss of your items except yourself. It's all about risk vs. reward, gravestones have skewed the ratio over the last few years. It'll be nice to see some danger added back to the game.

Personally, I was hoping Jagex would take away the gravestones. It used to be so fun doing Barrows or on a quest and you see somebody die, and instantly and nice few hundred k. :thumbsup: Sometime you would die and lose your stuff, but oh well, it's all part of the game. Used to be a lot funner that way.

Yea right... capitalism is seeking out your own wants and needs over anyone elses. Its not my fault I'm an oportunist.

 

Not to mention since Runescape is a GAME. I know this might be hard to comprehend but since Runescape is NOT real life, then the "morals" that apply in it are a lot more insignificant than the morals that represent real life.

Considering the mentality of the average player, I'm going on the assumption that if somebody found my grave, they would probably loot it. Hence if I find their grave, I will loot it as they would mine. I'm not going to be nice to people that won't reciprocate. If the situation was reversed and most people were nice and blessed graves, then I would do the opposite and bless them as they would bless me.

 

I'm skeptical of the people that say they will bless all the time regardless, sounds good on paper but when faced in the actual situation that's not your first instinct. At the very least a doubt will pop up in your mind.

Don't use things you're not ready to risk on death.

Considering that capitalism is based on individualism, which stresses the moral worth of the individual over society, family, etc, then yes it does have very much to do with capitalism. Also economics in general with Game Theory & Nash Equilibrium, but that's a bit of a stretch.
