Or because I may not play constantly but still play the game? Just because you may play more hours than me does not make me less entitled to an opinion on the game. If we could remove any old update it would be skillcapes. I was not a full supporter of removing free trade, however, it will lead to another few years of unsettled game if the update goes through.

The vote is a shambles. I cannot understand why you do not need a password to vote. It's madness.

Its ok, I voted for you :P

But Danq... Without cheating and corruption, there is no game!

Mayn U wanna be like me but U can't be me cuz U ain't got ma swagga on.

Would it be illegal to run a script that looks at the highscores and automatically votes for people on them?

probably not illegal but against their Tos I would presume. All they need to do is add a capcha, or even better require login for that user...

Illegal? Probably not. Vote rigging, yes. Corrupt, wrong, immoral, choose whichever term you wish.

Maybe Jagex already have the update ready to roll and just wanted to legitimise it? Thinking it wouldn't get enough votes, they made it not need a password knowing their player base would cheat to get high enough votes?

How is it not blatantly obvious that Jagex has every intention of bringing free trade and the old wilderness back regardless of how the vote pans out?

To put it bluntly, [bleep] off.

Did they say they were removing PvP and Bounty Worlds as well?

They aren't removing anything, only re-locating.

Which is a completely dumb move on their part.

That's exactly what I said. They can use the vote to 'legitimize' it to those who don't want it as they know the community will cheat the vote higher than it would be with passwords needed.

If not they are just plain crazy.

No doubt there will be huge riots when this is implemented. Wonder how they'll look like:

"We pay, we say. We pay to...76k?"

Bro I am pretty sure that the consesnus of the general public is that the vote is just for fun and that this update is clearly just a planned update. They probably have it all planned out and just wanted to run the poll to see how dedicated people were to rigging millions of votes.

I wish that they would've done a legitimate vote though so that people like yourself could just see that the population of players who would actually oppose this revert are in the vast minority. Do you really think we need to have a vote on this? Do you really think that the people who are against this would win?

Anyone know the link to vote?

Would be something like this:

runescape.com/wilderness?vote=true&username=Jagerblue

jagerbluebt1.gif

I can see this turning out several ways: either Jagex is planning on it or they aren't.

Personally, I'm in the middle. I very much enjoyed that production skills were profitable and that DIY was an important aspect of the game. However, I hated the fact that resource skills were hard as hell and that I'd die in the wilderness after taking 1 step.

I have extremely little trust in Jagex's claims of good anti-macroing and -cheating methods and have little hope for what a game brought back 3 years would look like, so my stance is on No right now.

Yes (82 votes [58.57%])

No (58 votes [41.43%])

That vote may not be as large, and may only be tip.it, but it is less of a throwaway vote that the Jagex one is. It doesn't show this vast minority you seem to think.

As I said, i agree it probably is set to roll out and is just a farce.

I'll say what I said in the last thread: this vote is nothing more than a mere rubber stamp for an update that will be implemented regardless of player input.

I agree with Stormrage, the only thing that *needs* to be changed is the PvP drop table. This entire "poll" is astoundingly biased and flawed. The inability to vote no, as well as not requiring a password defeats the purpose of the poll. They simply cannot expect to get an accurate representation of the player base when anyone can log into the game and submit the names of whoever the see and the Grand Exchange. Not to mention the bots that have already been made for the sole purpose to submitting names to this poll. There is simply not logical reason why Jagex would make a poll this flawed unless it was intentional, particularly since their polls in the past have required log in information. I found this little note to be especially interesting...

Jagex is encouraging people who don't even play the game, and have no knowledge of any of the issues involved, to support something they know virtually nothing about. I can only conclude that Jagex has already determined whether or not to reintroduce free trade and wilderness pk, and this poll is only a stunt. They either plan on doing this anyway, in which case this poll is an attempt to convince the players that Jagex listens to their opinions, or they plan on keeping things the same and the petition is just a way of getting the players to shut up about the issue when it all blows over.

I think the most amusing part about all of this is how the average player seems to have done a 180 in terms of their opinion of Jagex. A few weeks ago, if someone was critical of Jagex's decisions they received endless support, while those who defended the company were met with flames. How quickly people forget the past. As I read the posts in this thread that have been made since Jagex made this announcement, it seems that most people who support the return of wilderness pking/free trade think that their opinion is the only one that matters.

Inb4 someone "votes" for me after reading this.

Funny to have seen all the nay-sayers saying he was full of BS on the other thread.

I'm truly...amazed? Not something I would have expected, if I'm honest. Yeah, debating the issue and pondering the idea...but...now?. Haha, I'm excited. :D

Exactly. It doesn't matter how many don't want it, because it won't be as much as the people who want it. The people that got scammed or didn't pk don't want it. Furthermore, looking at the poll I notice more people are in favor for free trade and old wilderness. So if people want a legit poll, its right here on tipit, and they are already losing.

I personally am fully for this.

I agree; I'd have liked to seen Jagex do a legitimate vote instead of a PR stunt, even if they have already made up their minds.

I'll go one step further: if they don't find a way to have a legitimate vote, a substantial portion of the players will feel like the reversals are being rammed down their throats. The people opposed to the reversals spend money with Jagex too, and Jagex would be foolish to run roughshod over them - unless they just want a different segment of the player base to stop paying for members.

That voting page is a real hoot, though; I just voted as ringo starr and made the top of the list. :-P When they go to verifying the names in that count, I expect the number to be less than half of what's being reported by the odometer numbers.

People are purposefully rigging an already fraudulent (and therefor meaningless) poll... If anything shows more that RuneScape is completely ruined by people who can't play fair, it is this...

I think Jagex is indeed trying to get into the Guiness Book of Records with a "most cheated" mention...

I feel like the only person who's entirely against it coming back =/

No, not really...

They're bringing it back anyhow it seems.

This is supposed to be a game aimed for adults and they want us to vote like this?

Half of my friendlist is entering the names of everyone on their friendlist... <_<

"The Wildy is dead, and long may it stay so!

Can't stand the thought of a return to the days of free trade, the original wildy or the problems associated with it, make sure you get everyone who feels the same way to boycott this vote. If the majority of players don't vote in favour Jagex won't bring it back. Will the silence be deafening?"

How exactly can I prevent +- 50 people from entering my name???

I might even quit because of stuff like this, just think of the way we're being treated for the last year(s)... :wall:

If all you care about is fair gameplay, play single player games.

Every single MMO is full of bots, cheats, hacks RWT of some description.
