April 4, 201214 yr More quotes from Mod Mark: [hide][/hide] An interesting thread from Zarfot titled: "BOYCOTT JAGEX LTD." Quick find code: 285-286-427-63664591 on the RSOF.The thread is in the Rants forum so you will have to log into your account first.Meh all the J-mod posts seemed to be centered around the fact that this is not gambling. I don't care whether it's gambling or not. I care about that its 20$ for an almost guaranteed 200k-300k in random skills. They're either trying to avoid the topic of in-game advantage or somehow don't even acknowledge the advantage or something... April 4, 201214 yr This is ridiculous. As someone said already, so much for real world status not affecting in-game gains. On the up side, maybe they'll use the revenue generating machine that is the Squeal to FINALLY FIX THE DAMN FRAME RATE? It's getting worse with every update. I got less than 10fps in Varrock square this morning, and there were only about 10 other people there. <_< btw - Is it just me, or does anyone else picture that scene in Deliverance every time someone says "Squeal"? Especially when it relates to this update. I was thinking of posting that just the other day, Jagex telling the playerbase to "squeal piggy squeal". Not sure the forum mods would like that though

April 4, 201214 yr When a mod said that there would be new ways to get spins, I had a little hope that it would be possible to get some horns or the lucky katana. Now that it's been revealed that the way to get new spins is to pay for it, looks like getting the squeal-exclusive items is anything but impossible for normal players. Only people willing to fork over thousands of $, or the extremely lucky, have a shot at it. This update alone isn't that bad. Now that the dam has broken I'm more concerned that this will become a trend. From here, once the outrage has died down, I could see jagex starting to sell loyalty points. Overnight the loyalty shop could become just like a cash shop. A lot of people would easily pay big money in order to get all the auras they want. Selling spins might just be step 1 in a long plan to transform this game into a cash shop/P2P hybrid. 2480+ total
April 4, 201214 yr Not sure if this is news here, I don't play rs or read tip.it anymore QFC 15-16-799-63666808 He's my clan leader and was forum banned for posting that. I agree, there's quite a few ways to go about adjusting it to make it acceptable to the philosophy of the game's design without removing it, but I don't see any indications that Jagex will consider any of them. To make it clear, the wheel should either not involve real money, or it shouldn't give an in-game advantage. The former can be stopped by stopping the sale of tickets for cash, and the latter can be stopped by changing the prizes to be only the following: 1. untradable or worth uncompetitive amounts of gp, 2. Worth uncompetitive amounts of xp and/or 3. Has uncompetitive stats. By uncompetitive, I mean you should be able to achieve faster xp rates, better equipment stats or greater profits by playing the game normally. I wouldn't mind it if the SoF was full of character customisations and fun stuff like what's in the Loyalty shop. In fact, what they should have done in the first place was make the SoF and the Loyalty Program the same thing! ~ W ~
April 5, 201214 yr still complaining? get over it and quit now if you cant bear to see a runescape cash shop in the near future. Its not going away dealwithit.pngSome things in life are worth fighting over and some people are quite morally adamant on this. It's not that it's a game to us, but that we strongy associate ourselves with jagex and feel that a company that does things such as this threatens our moral image. Generally you are right about getting over it, but I think this issue is a lot more serious that just gameplay right now. I'm not sure if this is new or not, since I usually just report bots that message me for encouraging rulebreaking. Not new. It's actually REALLY old. Ever since they switched the report interface which was years ago. Now RWT is reportable under encouraging rule breaking (when they mention they buy gold) or macroing (when you see those level 3's that RWTers use as mules, mostly because they don't talk so it's the only rule you really can report them for). I spent like $40 yesterday.Only got like 370k xp in the skill I want and and another 230k in other random junk.So what you're saying is that it's 15k exp for $1. That is WAY too high. Essentially, the max is buying 3M exp per day for $200. :wall:EDIT: Just realized that's at all 99's, so it will be a little less for non-maxed players, but still too high.

April 5, 201214 yr Meh.. I just sent a polite e-mail imo explaining why I had to unsub due to security concerns towards jagex and my cards. Basically that they needed to add more security/reaffirm details. Its unacceptable that anyone who can get access to my account can spend all my money. Aswell as children using parents card can buy items without extra confirmation. Lots of stuff but just focused on my security concerns towards jagex not taking my security/real life money seriously. I did say I would reconsider my position if they put in security though. Maybe that will make the investers pay attention. Truth is I dont /want/ to quit but my security concerns are very legit and im concerned with their lack of concern with future updates related to payments. (Pretty likely they ganna introduce more things.) I dont want to keep checking updates to see if they have done something else thats also a security concern for me. Its a fun game but its not worth some idiot abusing the recovery system and spending all my money. =s I havnt got a choice.. I need real life money to eat, pay rent, etc. I need trust with jagex that they are ganna be responsible in the future. (And now.) Sure I have removed all my details anyway. That doesnt mean we know what future updates will bring and its irrelevant because im also concerned for everyone else who plays too. (Who dont know, or have any reason to know, to remove their details.) Aswell as parents who children who play and can buy things without extra confirmation. I got hope they will put in extra security but if not.. All good things come to an end. This is where I draw the line tbh. It shouldnt be possible for children to use their kids cards to buy ingame stuff without extra security. Seems wrong to me.Don't worry, they already thought of that and updated their terms of service with "We reserve the right to charge you for any unauthorized use of your subscription by third parties." .
